The general rule among returning Las Vegas vacationers is what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. The same is true for professional political staffers returning from life on the campaign trail. Sure you re-hash certain particularly amusing or dramatic anecdotes with friends over a few beers, but you dont purposefully blab to the national media in an effort to sandbag your candidate.
Not surprisingly, the McCain campaign doesnt want to abide by the unspoken, but widely understood, rules of political protocol. Certain campaign insiders are, and have been, engaged in an effort to throw Governor Sarah Palin under the bus for - in their estimation bringing the McCain ticket down. These Benedict Arnolds have leaked everything from alleged Palin tantrums to rumored shopping sprees and a seemingly exaggerated tall tale that tries to paint Palin as inappropriate for opening the door to her hotel room one morning in a towel. In my estimation the only thing that smacks of inappropriateness is the behavior of these staffers.

Saw that and really seemed to enjoy it, too. He more suited to TMZ.
Yeah the stories changes depending on who reported it Fox or Newsweek.
I don’t think that particular story has all that damaging an effect. To many guys get distracted with the visual.
Sarah Palin is the only one that motivated me.....
these despicable people can just go fly a kite....
if Palin ever decides to endure this type of constant onslaught from the media, and some of her staff, SHE will be in charge and SHE will pick who her staff is....
Hang in there Sarah Palin.....
I do NOT understand all the HELL that is being raised about her wardrobe! Who the hell pays for Obama’s suits, his airplane, etc.?
Sure as heck didn’t come out of his own pocket.
Which “campaign related” expenses must be paid for by the candidate?
Y'know, you coulda fooled me. I thought she did a great job of energizing the base. That she didn't manage to get all of them back, when McCain's foolishness lost them is hardly her fault. And the only "high negatives" I noticed were from the MSM and a few of their "inside-the-beltway" accomplices, running a 24/7 verbal assassination party.
We may have to go through HELL the next 4 years but hopefully the conservative politicians will now wake up.
The numbers are coming in and conservatives stayed home and PUMA'S went with Obama.
It's time we take back our party
He's spent more energy defending Obama than he has defending Sarah Palin.
He is part of the reason I left the Republcan Party. Bush is the other.
attack attack attack....
McCain is lame if he allows this ridiculous and meaningless diatribe arout OUR candidate.....
I don’t have a problem with them airing Palin’s shortcomings and misbehavior. However, in the same breath, they ought to be airing the names of those really responsible for putting this woefully unqualified and unvetted person on the ticket. Sarah Palin did not place herself on the ticket, and those who are responsible for placing her there need to be held to account for THEIR incredibly poor judgement. Fawning FReepers notwithstanding, Palin will be nowhere near the Republican ticket in 2012, but the campaign advisers who put her on the 2008 ticket should be banished to the fringes as well, or we can pretty much count on 8 years of President Obama.
I'd consider siding with those scumbag staffers who badmouth her now as "tribal mentality". The conservative base loves Palin. The only one who have beef with her are the RINOs, the media, the liberals and the sheeple mouthbreathers who bought marxism hook line and sinker. Get real. Without Palin, McCain would had to content with having Lieberman for audience.
Thrown under the bus? She laid in front of it. And then challenged the driver to run over her. Like an idiot he did, but she brought it on.
Exactly!! Before Palin, we were not giving to the McCain campaign. As soon as Palin became his running mate, I told my husband to get out the checkbook and send money. He said he already had it out.
I might have voted for him, but not with the enthusiasm that I did with Palin on the ticket. And there were Hillary voters that wouldn’t have voted for him without Palin on the ticket. All these other people that are negative about her wouldn’t have voted for McCain anyway.
McCain and his geniuses have to explain to themselves how they managed to lose to a guy with no experience, no resume, no past. How do you lose to a ghost?
A guy with Joe Biden as his running-mate, no less, while you’ve got a wildly popular partner out stumping for you.
How do you manage to screw that up?
The “he’s a war hero” thing isn’t flying anymore. McCain was an awful candidate with an awful campaign. Your neocon experiment utterly failed. You McCain trolls need to leave and find somewhere else to spew your garbage so FR can get back to work on SERIOUS candidates.
How? Show us your true feelings!
Suprised... yes. I’m young, this was the first election I voted in. So I was suprised and extremely disapointed in my ‘leaders’.
