This includes final polls up through election day, and horizontal lines added indicating actual vote percentages for McCain and Obama.
It looks like we should have been looking at Republicans being oversampled.

It shows that the polls for the most part were right on target or very close to pegging the actual results.

... in any one state there are maybe 6 to 10 pollsters, Rasmussen, Gallup, Reuters usually included, but the others are pretty much local to the state ... universities, newspapers and such ... each point on the curves is a single poll, no averages involved ...
