We will see. I am willing to give him a chance due to his excellent leadership on the energy debate. Now I want Mike Pence installed as the minority house leader and I will be estatic!

Eric Cantor is one of the good guys, was talked up as a possible VP choice for McRINO (probably just as well he didn’t get it), getting Blount out, and Cantor in won’t hurt the GOP in the House one little bit, this is an improvement!

“You’re doing a great job, Hank!”—or something like that. Truly appalling.

But how about McCain? He ended up pretty much claiming he had to go to Washington for it because he’s the only one who could bring the truculent House Republicans to heel.

This is good news. Shows me that the Republicans are taking the right steps for 2010. In my view, we need 3 people in the house -

1. The lead strategist - a guy who, like Newt, is a big picture idea person. I would prefer this person to be a bit behind the scenes so that it is more difficult for the press (and the Dem’s) to directly attack them.

2. A guy who can deliver the votes and ensure solidarity on our side - Usually this is the Whip, and I prefer someone like Delay, but without the earmarks. Very tactical, tough and able to scare the wobbly.

3. The front guy - someone good on camera who can make the strategy effective to the public, and who seems “nice” enough to be bi-partisan and can at least blunt the inevitable charge that the Republicans are the obstructionists and the Democrats are the bi-partison, friendly smurfs..

I’m not sure if Cantor is the perfect Whip, but I think he may be the right guy to be the idea guy. In the opposition it might be good for the Whip to be the strategist.

Dems will need every Repub they can get. There are “conservative” dems thinking about the next election. Also if some Repubs go along with Pelosi, the botox reprobate can share the blame if things go really bad.

That’s one. Now Boehner needs to step down. And the Senate needs to do the same.

THANK YOU! I had a feeling I would be the only dissenter on Cantor. I originally had high hopes for him- til the morning of the first bailout vote. When he went on tv and blamed Pelosi’s “partisanship” on why the bill failed- I wrote him off as another gutless politician.

So- I’m not starting off as a fan.

Yikes, that’s bad.

Especially with RINOs, they are effectively fillibuster-proof if they have that many.

Yes, they are effectively filibuster proof. But not technically. That 58 includes Lieberman, for what it’s worth.

“thought the Democrat now have 58 seats in the Senate, which would leave them two seats shy of a filibuster-proof majority.”

And you believe that the Democrat Senate can not find two RINO’s to help a brother out.
