oops!
I mean recount, but each time they do it, amazingly Franken is getting more votes!

I’m sure that once he is the winner, they will stop recounting.

They’ve done a good job of it since 2006. Really, name one piece of liberal legislation to make it out of Congress.

And even still... Freepers throw more (R) Senators under the bus than Obama throws casual associates.

If you were a Republican senator, would you trust the conservative base to have your back for a millisecond?

The Schumers and Boxers and Clintons never have to worry about their constituents. Hillary voted for the frikkin WAR and the peacenik-feminists still love her.

Sanders voted against amnesty.
What would be the case against amnesty from a socialist perspective?

Another RINO bites the dust, drops his horn, hightails it to lobbyist-land. Good riddance, and if the house cleaning must go on, so be it. A true conservative party is taking shape, and, if I step away from the horror of Tuesday, I like it.

How likely are these folks to stand up against their leadership because they pretty well know their political blood will flow in the next election?
Almost all of them. John Murtha retained his rating in the NRA, after all.

"...GOP incumbents are poised to hold on to their seats by razor-thin margins, and thus help sustain the Republicans' ability to filibuster."

Except for the preening egos of RINOs like Susan Collins...

It appears we’ll be able to filibuster. So long as that is the case, I’m not going to shed a tear to see Gordon Smith get tossed out. Another RINO gone and a cleaner house, as far as I’m concerned.

“Would they have to have 60% to change it to 50%?? “

As I understand the rules, no.

I’m from Eugene, but live in Charleston, SC. Would you extend your opinion to Pandsey (who just soundly won re-election)?

Good riddance, and if the house cleaning must go on, so be it.

The seat may never come back. Smith was the best that could be done in Oregon. Smith lost because of the Constitution party candidate getting 5%.

57 Dems plus Collins, Snowe, and Specter doesn’t sound like we’ll necessarily be able to filibuster. There are no conservative Democrats left to help us out. The last time the ‘Rats had a huge majority, there were still some conservative Dixiecrats like Eastland, Stennis, Russell, Talmadge, McClellan, Harry Byrd, Sam Ervin, and so forth. They’re all gone. The Senate ‘Rats now are all hard leftists except for Pryor (a moderate liberal). Landrieu became more centrist after Katrina sent many her black constituents off to other states, but now that she’s safely re-elected for six years she’ll go right back to being a Barbara Boxer clone. Doddering old Robert Byrd occasionally casts a conservative vote on something or other. But that’s about it.

It’ll take a concerted effort by the American people to stop the Obama agenda.

From Northern Calif. on up to the border of Alaska is one big lib eco pot-brownies gay kind of place. I don’t know how Smith held on to Oregon as long as he did with that fake “R” after his name. Probably because the people there knew it was fake, and just waited a term to dump him overboard.

You mean they might exercise the same “constitutional option” on all votes that we tried to get through for only judicial appointments? If I recall, John McCain and Lindsay Graham and 12 others killed that effort......

“As I understand it, the dems will change the Senate rules to make the filibuster limit 50% instead of 60%.”

Would that not require a 2/3 vote?

Don’t laugh. I think there is a lot of voter fraud in Oregon. Remember ballots are sent to current addresses. I truly believe a lot of dead people still get ballots.
