The “success” of the War on Drugs ought to put to rest any notion that this government is capable of controlling any kind of product sales very effectively, when enough people (and it’s not a large number) decide that the rule of law doesn’t bear any relevance to their lives.

The model was the Lenin October Revolution.. Which followed Marx well. Now we have that mentality in power. People are gonna be shocked at what they see happening with their vote before long.

This should be made into an ad RIGHT FRICKIN' NOW for the Republican party.

What's the over/under on how quick they'll go after gold if I cash out? I'm thinking platinum might be a better bet. High intrinsic value, but "under the radar".

Lets force the government retirement system do the same thing. Or do the PC redistribution of government pensions. Hell, I don’t care how much it inconveniences them. We can move thrir retirement age to 300 years old and solve any problems!!!

I’ve got a friend that just bought 4k ton of pellets (for burning). Good as gold when you live in new england. A word of caution: you need to own a large warehouse if you are going to invest in pellets :-)

Oh, Argentina, that place, I grew up around there; their ‘system’ had to devalue their currency several times over the last decades so their ‘decimal point’ kept moving!
Oh, those people that had their savings in dollars a few years back, well, the gov just changed it to pesos overnight and they just ruined tons of families.
Yeah, that is what is coming, makes me think back when I studied the Constitution to be a good American and moved here, now I am abut to re-live my youth!!!

I suspect there are enough moderate Democrats in the House who wouldnt even go along with such a scheme. They'll simply find a way to blame Bush/the Republicans and it will be all right with his zombie followers.

. Sometimes it seems that just keeping cash in a safe is the safest. In multiple currencies.
Then they just change the currency and you are screwed

This will spark an armed revolt. If they do this, this country and this congress will cease to exist in this lifetime. There will be nothing left of the Capitol. hundreds of millions of Americans will burn it to the ground, with the democrats in it

I'm open to any and all non-volatile suggestions. I'm not looking to make a killing in any given market, I just want to protect MY GADDAMNED MONEY and keep it out of the hands of The Occupation and their Vichy sycophants.

I still have my 401K from a previous employer. Managed by Fidelity, with generous investment options as far as choosing instruments.
