It's also time the GOP made a play for African Americans as well. Only 14% turned out to vote this election (even with Obama running) compared to 13% in 2004. Black American Conservatism has always been a strong thread in the African American Community (pro-life, anti-gay). The GOP has to make inroads on the ground and in the churches. They can also make a bigger play for Latino voters (Americans not the illegal types). Most are conservative Catholics and entrepranuers. There is no reason the GOP can't do better with Cuban Americans as well who hate communism.

The GOP does not do a good job at the local level. When I voted this time, and every other election I've voted, there are always lower level races and positions (city council, auditor, local judges, etc.) that Dem candidates are running uncontested. Conservatives are busy raising families and enjoying Capitalism but the Dems fill the govt. Howard Dean, is a dingleberry of course, but his strategy of putting money and investing on the ground everywhere years ago probably paid off this election.

Palin and Romney are both part of the future of the party. I am amazed at those trashing Palin or those lying about Romney as the source of Palin rumors. We have the names they are former McCain staffers.

Michelle Malkin was on Fox this morning naming the McCain aides. That the liberal MSM is trying to pin it on Romney speaks volumes. They want to bring both Palin and Romney down. What better way to do it than lie about both. What is too bad this last week how many FReepers have bought into the rumors.

Time to look to the future. That Prop 8 did well in Commufornia gives me hope that America will do the right thing eventually.

The GOP has tried time and again, making a big tent to include Americans of all ethnic backgrounds, including those from Africa. It is time that Americans who happen to have black skin make a personal decision to be more conservative, responsible, and prosperous. They are welcome. They need to join the GOP. The door is always open.
