Any Active Conservative Groups in Maine (vanity)

Mrs NHD and I are in the process of relocating to mid-coast Maine from NH. (2 years ago we would have thought this to be a big step downward in terms of the political environment but unfortunately NH's conservative ethic is rotting away quickly.) Are there any active conservative groups in Maine or in that area?

I think the group meets once a month in a phone booth in Portland.

A FReeper, fed up with taxes has been running threads on the repeal of the Maine beverage tax ballot initiative that passed yesterday.

Just search Maine tax and I’m sure you will find the threads.

What you have seen in New Hampshire is the same thing we see in Colorado, Nevada and some other states. People who live in liberal states like California, New Jersey and New York leave those states because they can’t afford to live there anymore. Consequently, they run away from those high taxes etc., but still keep their liberal philosophy and export it. North Carolina and Virginia are beginning to be infested with the Magots. Pretty soon, they will institute the same taxes that ran them out of their old states.

Maine is probably the most liberal state in the country. I know they are one of the most heavily taxed.

Move down here to Tennessee. Not only did we vote overwhelmingly for McCain, the GOP took control of the state House for the first time ever and solidified our control over the state Senate.

BTW, I have a nice house for sale in a good neighborhood.

Like the state’s politics or not, I’m a Maine native and we both have many current connections to Maine. Plus we have a nice (but modest) new home on salt water. On the plus side politically, 100% of the residents on our road (3 families) are die hard conservatives.
