I think I am the first published casualty.

This Is Not Satire!

Dear Frank:

Based on economic conditions of the current environmentm we are in the unfortunate position of having to eliminate positions within the company. This letter is to inform you that your staus as an employee will end today.

(COBRA paragraph)

I hope you will quickly find a rewarding position elsewhere and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors. If you have any questions .. etc., etc.

Sincerely
Director of Operations.

I walked into work this morning and about 20 of us received this.

I am sorry this has happened to you.
You do not indicate what kind of skills you have.
Contact me in private messaging. I might have some ideas for you.

I am thinking that you are just the beginning of a flood. Companies are going to be sharpening their pencils and figuring how they can get down to basics, and not pay Nobama the taxes he thinks he can squander on none workers, and others who just stand with their hands open, expecting someone to pay for their lifestyle.

Ah, man. I am so sorry for you. I've been laid off a number of times. It's a shock.

Just wondering - were all 20 Republicans?

Oh no knarf! I am so sorry to hear that. I wish you the best of luck in finding a new job. What kind of work do you do? Maybe a Freeper can help you find something?

To: knarf; All

You may be the first published casualty, and sorry to hear that, but I got my 2-week notice last night as I was leaving work.

I’m thinking about a Christmas job....

Anyone with ideas, FR mail me, thanks.

I am sorry to hear of your experience.
I suggest, if at all possible, that you start "sharing the wealth" and take the maximum unemployment benefits that are available.

I am sure the "Share the wealth" types will see to it that it's at least a year, perhaps longer.

Oh my gosh, knarf. You're one of my favorites on FR.

Curses on the company that fired you!

Good luck with the job search! You are a freeper, so you are one step ahead already!

If I were the owner of a company that needed to downsize; I would first do a quick survey or the parking lot to see which employees had those pro-obama bumper stickers. They would be the first to go! And if I could do it without being sued, I would let them know that “their new president” was the reason for their being the first ones to asked to leave.

I am very sorry, Knarf! Freep mail me if you’d like some assistance in your search. I’m mid-atlantic region, but have contacts in the recruitment field.

Always happy to help a freeper!!

I am sorry to hear about your job loss. My son lost his job a month ago and my wife lost her job of nearly ten years last week, they also fired another employee who had been with them for over ten years at the same time. Don't worry about their bosses, they all have platinum parachutes.

May God continue to provide for you as you search for new employment.
