For the first time since post-Civil War Reconstruction, the GOP holds majorities in both chambers, Republicans said.
House and Senate Republicans also have enough votes 69 to capture the three constitutional offices of secretary of state, comptroller and treasurer. The states 132 legislators elect the constitutional officers, and it takes 67 votes to win. ______________________________________________
What does this mean ???
Everything...
One biggy being that the Republicans control the state election commision for the first time since Reconstruction..
How about making it harder for illegal aliens to vote in TN, guys ?????

I was giving serious thought to heading down to NC for my the rest of my “decling years’ but with what happened yesterday there's no way I'll do it.It's clear that NC has “New Hampshire Disease” and has it pretty bad.Now Tennessee....specifically eastern TN....looks quite good to me.But I've gotta be as close to the ocean as possible and there's no way that I could stand the heat and humidity of GA or SC.

Notice the difference in headline emotion:
In Tennessee, Republicans "Seize Control" of House and Senate.
In the USA, Obama "Wins, Triumphs, Attains" the Presidency.
Gee, I guess the press doesn't realize this is a new age of harmony and bipartisanship.

What are we doing in TN about a marriage amendment? If California and Florida can pass one, surely we can.

This also means we have a republican lieutenant governor. As Steve Gill pointed out last night, Bredesen might find Washington a little more to his liking now, and may actually get appointed to some Sec. position. If that happens, we will get a republican governor.

I should move to Tennessee. I’d like to live somewhere for a few years where my wife and I are not the only McCain supporters holding a sign in a sea of the Leaders followers.
