The nice aspect of Parliamentary Government is that people can belong to the party that truly identifies their beliefs. Then their party makes alliance with other parties with similar interest to rule. In our system of Government we cannot have three viable parties. Essentially differing parties have to create the alliance in the Democrat or Republican caucus. So it maybe time to create true organized third parties within the Republican or Democrat parties. I think that is the only way for third parties to be viable, instead of running for office outside the main two parties.

Very good point. I'm a 3rd party supporter myself, but have long recognized the essentially fixed nature of the 2-party system and how difficult it would be in the modern era for a new party to displace either the Democrats or Republicans. That said, I like your idea of organizing a conservative sub-party (something like bringing the Constitution Party into the RP fold) and fighting in the primaries for such a faction. Because the primaries would then be a key area of focus.

Not of Parliamentary Government of government with some form of proportional representation.

Canada does not have that. The left vote was heavily fractures allowing the conservatives to win almost a majority of seats in Parliament with just 37% of the vote.

I’d like a Parliament here. But no prop rep. it leads to too much instability.
