Rep. Michele Bachmann overcame an October surprise of her own making to hold on to her congressional seat Tuesday, while fellow Republican Erik Paulsen won Minnesota's only open seat.

No duh.
Idea #1. KOSHER DIET for Washington!
I guess we will soon find out. I voted for Ryun in the primary.
My friend who lives in JOCO said she voted for Moore because he seems like “such a nice family man.” I told her she was an idiot. Of course, she also voted against Roberts because she saw him in a commercial and said he was “just old” and “has been there forever.” I then told her to next time not vote and leave it to people who actually research issues and have a clue. I am sick of stupid people.
I think you should have to pass a test that you have some rudimentary understanding of political issues before you can vote. Everyone is my precinct is totally clueless, it’s really revolting morons get to have power over everyone’s lives like this.
Try talking to your friend like you would a child, maybe that will work.
She probably isn’t my friend anymore. ;-) I also told her to do people like me a favor and just not vote if she openly admits that she “doesn’t even care about politics” or “pay that much attention.” I told her the result of her openly admitted clueless vote was to cancel the vote of someone like me who actually does follow issues and does have a clue and cares A LOT. I think she thinks I’m a nut because she found my accusations of Rat voter fraud “absolutely ridiculous” and the fact that I thought Obama a left-wing radical “nutty.” She’s just proud to have taken part in this “historical election.”
Anyway, I am sick of ignorant people allowing themselves to be manipulated by the media. I can’t even associate with these people right now. They disgust me. It is ultimately their fault that they are ignorant. It is their responsiblity to educate themselves.
“She probably isnt my friend anymore. ;-) “
By the sound of her you are likely better off, you probably lose an IQ point every time you look at her!
LOL.
Take a look at this:

(I forget if I linked you to this)
“Did you see Mike Duncan the RNC chair kissing up with the media and Howard Dean. This is the problem, if the roles were reversed do you believe Howard would have even shown up.
Im sick of Pussy Republican Leadership”
NO!
We need to stand up and say that we are dead set against Obama’s socialistic agenda and that we are going to stop it dead in its tracks.
Matt Blunt shouldn’t have turned tail and run, bad show. I hope he doesn’t plan on seeking office in the future because cowardice shouldn’t be rewarded. We still have our 5-4 majority in the House, and Nixon will be stymied by the GOP legislature (most especially that the MO GOP gained 3 seats in the State Senate, as we did in TN). One nice thing is that McCaskill revealed her moonbat leanings and so tied herself to the totalitarian, and with his narrowly losing the state, I can say she will probably be toast in 2012 for a second Senate term.
Although it’s nice Lynn Jenkins took the seat away from moonbat Boyda, she’s a pro-abort RINO. Frankly, I was amazed she was able to win given that ugly primary.
Hulshof’s a RINO ? What ? Even if we had gotten Steelman, she likely would’ve lost because of the climate. We had solid candidates for all the open and Dem-held statewide offices and only Kinder as an incumbent survived.
“Matt Blunt shouldnt have turned tail and run, bad show.”
Perhaps. But the main reason that Matt Blunt didn’t run was that he was unpopular and would have likely lost. Indeed, he might not have even survived a Republican primary. Perhaps he thought that another Republican would have been a stronger candidate.
You are right that Blunt shouldn’t seek office in the future, for the same reason Democrats don’t want Bob Holden to run for anything.
Minnesota ping
I think the unpopularity wasn’t quite as bad as portrayed, and was merely an indication that he was trailing Nixon by a narrow margin in a head-to-head matchup for the past year. Ostensibly Blunt’s people went with Hulshof, so while Steelman might’ve made a fair challenge, he likely would’ve survived renomination. I don’t honestly think he was that much more unpopular or damaged than, say, Pawlenty in MN in ‘06 or Daniels in IN this year (of whom did very little to justify being reelected, yet managed an astonishing 20%+? win).
In any event, I think Steelman may be the best bet to take on McCaskill in 2012. Peter Kinder will likely go up against Nixon that year, who isn’t likely to accomplish much with a GOP legislature.
I don’t know what Long-Thompson did wrong but she must have done something. The other statewide races were close.
You want to know what Jill Long-Thompson did wrong?
1. She was a miserable failure with fundraising. She actually pulled ads about a month out because she was out of cash. Daniels had a massive war chest built up and he was running ads last year and ran them non-stop until election day.
2. Daniels had a powerful, organized, disciplined ground game that got the vote out and convinced obama voters to split their ticket (look at the obama #’s and look at Long-Thompson #’s... it doesn’t add up!), which was evident when you drove around Marion County or Bloomington and saw yards with Obama and Daniels signs side by side
3. She did not present a competing agenda. She just said “Mitch Daniels supports the Bush economic policies”. That’s inspiring to some, but it does not add up when you consider that Daniels cuts budgets with an ax, not a scalpel, and he left the Bush administration frustrated with the out of control spending back in 2002! Daniels is a true small government guy who balanced the budget without raising taxes. That’s not Bush, sorry.
Daniels is a rising star within the party. He’s smart, he’s tough, he’s bold, and he’s going to be someone the rest of the country will know in a few years. Yeah, I’m a fan.
I’m also a big fan of Bachmann (which brought me to this thread). I was one of the folks that made an initial donation and then followed up with more support when the GOP pulled their support! When I was solicited to make a contribution to McCain I told them my money went to Minnesota.
Thanks for the 411. She was indeed a lousy candidate for them.
Some freepers don’t share your high opinion of Daniels.
So man up and run against the Dem in two years.
You don’t need permission. All talk?
