How many amendments will he try to off?
I was not among those who advocated McCains loss because he was not a true conservative, but now that its done, can we be honest?
McCain was Bushs third term. Bush won the the base on abortion and taxes alone, because he pushed the party left on everything else. Fortunately for America, Bush did most of the right things on national security in response to 9/11. Other than that* his presidency was immensely damaging to the party.
I’m not glad Obama won, but let’s look on the bright side - we are now free of Bushism (and McCainism) and can look for some real, conservative leaders.
In the meantime, we lead the opposition. As dark as the early Clinton days seemed at first, they were soon followed by some very heady days: Dan’s Bake Sale, the tomato-pelting of the “Health Care Express” buses, the Republican tsunami of 1994; here in my town and state, takeovers of the school board, the state legislature, and more; the explosion of talk radio and conservative publishing houses. Am I the only one who lived for the next issue of National Review, American Spectator, and (pre-internet) the Conservative Chronicle back in the day?
History is made when ideology and ambition clash with the great events of our time. I do not see Obama as a great man or a great leader. Who knows what events are in store? It is certain that he wants to implement socialism, but there is no guarantee that he will succeed, and every reason to believe that he will fail, and fail miserably. History, on its own, may stop him. But sometimes history needs a little push. That’s our job. Standing athwart, one might even say...
And on top of all that, for anybody who even so much as uses the word “racism,” we can now point to the White House and say, “Racism? That is so last century! Welcome to the 21st, caveman.”
Buck up, my friends! This is OUR time! President-elect Obama may not know that, but he soon will!
* Yes, I know, “Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?”

Isn’t it time for a National Voter Fraud act...something with teeth?
May not have much weight with Obambi and his comrades controlling the country, but it would force the Democrats to say they are in favor of it...at least they’ll be on record.
“Any thoughts”
You ask for non-paranoid thoughts, but my tin foil is burning tonight.
How about moving to Stika, Alaska. It has a mild weather pattern and is thousands of miles from the radioactive wind currents.
Alaska is also administered by Sarah. I hear that it is a very nice place and a vacation destination. People hunt and fish for food.
Lets go.
National Voter Fraud Act....YEP....we can dream....how about purple fingers? NO absentee, unless absolutely necessary....NO early voting.....NO MOTOR VOTER registration, and NO SAME DAY registration....
Why do you think it will fail. No or at least very slim, possibly of a filibuster. Pelosi will ram it through the house with hardly any effort. If they, Reid, Pelosi and Obama want it, it'll get done. That's pretty much true of anything they want.
My escape plans usually involve warmer climates!
Agree on 1-5, but since Iraq is so big on the global radar screen, it won’t be as fast as the others.
Things are much worse. Clinton was power hungry but pragmatic. Obama is a left wing ideologue. The House and Senate are much more in control of the 'rats, and those 'rats are for the most part, far more left wing than what Clinton had to work with, especially the leadership.
11) In a huge payback to the abortion industry, the democrats sign the Freedom of Choice Act, effectively eliminating any restrictions on abortion whatsoever. Partial birth abortion once again becomes legal, as do any restrictions of minors being able to get abortions without their parents consent. The Hyde amendment is discarded and the federal government pays for abortions for women who are poor and unable to afford paying for their own abortion.
12) A new batch of ACLU lawyers are appointed to federal judiciaries, including possibly the supreme court, using their newfound power to promote far left policies that the democrat legislators wouldn’t be caught dead supporting.
13) Homosexuals become a protected minority, allowing homosexual activists to aggressively prosecute any small business, school, or private charity that does not explicitly endorse the homosexual lifestyle as a normal and acceptable alternative to heterosexuality.
14) The democrats pass the Violence Against Women Act II, giving women who divorce their husbands and claim that they feel threatened free governemnt paid for attorneys to pursue custody of minor children, child support, and alimony.
Yes, Hawaii is wonderful for a get away and we've been going there in winter for a while. But, it is the home state of you know who now. Sunny climes have been taken over, don't you think? There is no where to turn but into the hills or far north.
If there is total social collapse, Alaska might be a safe place. http://www.sitka.com/
I fear for the good people of Taiwan. They’re dead ducks. The Marxist won’t lift a finger to defend them when the ChiComs invade.
Plus we could power up that AIP thing bigtime.
That's section 666(a). /sarc>
NO cheers, unfortunately.
Hubby sniped at the poll worker today [the Dem one] because she didn’t ask us for ID.
[We showed ours any way]
He asked her *why* nobody had to show ID and she said “Because MD doesn’t have a fraud problem”
[okay...are you up off the floor and done laughing, yet?]
The second she got done saying that I sniped “We won’t have a fraud problem until the bill on “early voting” passes.”
She looked...um...”vexed”.
And it will pass.
Apparently the Bawlmer voters are getting snotty about having to get out of their graves, en masse on a scheduled day.
Her further rationale was “if you’re not in this book, you don’t vote”.
Pfffft.
If somebody knows my address and birthday, they can be “me”.
Luckily, the 2 [R] poll workers are ladies I literally grew up with so the odds of it happening to *me* are zilch.
Other people in the state not living in ‘everybody knows everybody else’ communities?
Not so much.
And Israel might just slip Taiwan a couple of nukes.
No cheers, unfortunately.
