What Will Obama Do? (vanity #213,450 registered with the FCC in compliance with sec 663.1(a)

Okay, let's take a moment to collect our thoughts, and begin preparing ourselves for what's to come. Obama and the MSM will take this election as a mandate to race far to the Left. Pelosi, Reid, and Obama will have a field day. Even with 40 Senators, the Dems will find enough compliant GOP RINO's to avoid any filibuster...

So what do they do with it? My predictions:
1. African aid jumps to the 10-digit figures. When Bush gave a record $40 billion for AIDS in Africa, the Left bemoaned how little it was. Look for sub-Saharan Africa to get more monetary aid than the rest of the world combined.
2. The Fairness Doctrine gets touted once more, but actually fails.
3. Tax increases are hidden, couched as fees, etc. Actual rates rise about 10% for everyone.
4. Reparations get some consideration, but also fail.
5. Hillarycare style Health Care "reforms" take place.
6. The Iraq drawdown is slower than we might have feared, but are enough to destabilize Iraq's new government. They have a new system in place in 3 years, invite our troops to leave, and then the purges begin. 2-3 million are dead or displaced.
7. Corporate taxes (now the second highest in the world) become the highest in the world. American companies have zero incentive to stay home. Attempts are made to punish those attempting to restructing abroad, but that does not diminish the impact of several of the big names going away.
8. Russia, Iran, and Syria rattle their sabres. Lebanon is occupied again, several portions of former Russian republics get "repatriated", and Iran uses the UN to put some real hurtin' on Israael. Venezuela, Cuba, and Saudi Arabia become very cooperative, and are seen as foreign policy victories for Obama.
9. Those at the top economically do really well, those just behind lose significantly, and those in the upper middle class have nowhere to go but down. Entrepreneurship in America becomes so cumbersome that the real do-ers start to honestly consider other nations that may be friendlier to a go-getter... in surprising places including Asia and Eastern Europe (Poland, especially).
10. The borders become irrelevant, and America's population jumps 11% in the next 3 years (that's 34 million people, or another California... or 3 more Pennsylvanias).

Your thoughts? Let's try to keep them on the less paranoid side. We need to prepare for realistic futures.

I was not among those who advocated McCain’s loss because he was not a true conservative, but now that it’s done, can we be honest?

McCain was Bush’s third term. Bush won the the base on abortion and taxes alone, because he pushed the party left on everything else. Fortunately for America, Bush did most of the right things on national security in response to 9/11. Other than that* his presidency was immensely damaging to the party.

I’m not glad Obama won, but let’s look on the bright side - we are now free of Bushism (and McCainism) and can look for some real, conservative leaders.

In the meantime, we lead the opposition. As dark as the early Clinton days seemed at first, they were soon followed by some very heady days: Dan’s Bake Sale, the tomato-pelting of the “Health Care Express” buses, the Republican tsunami of 1994; here in my town and state, takeovers of the school board, the state legislature, and more; the explosion of talk radio and conservative publishing houses. Am I the only one who lived for the next issue of National Review, American Spectator, and (pre-internet) the Conservative Chronicle back in the day?

History is made when ideology and ambition clash with the great events of our time. I do not see Obama as a great man or a great leader. Who knows what events are in store? It is certain that he wants to implement socialism, but there is no guarantee that he will succeed, and every reason to believe that he will fail, and fail miserably. History, on its own, may stop him. But sometimes history needs a little push. That’s our job. Standing athwart, one might even say...

And on top of all that, for anybody who even so much as uses the word “racism,” we can now point to the White House and say, “Racism? That is so last century! Welcome to the 21st, caveman.”

Buck up, “my friends!” This is OUR time! President-elect Obama may not know that, but he soon will!

* Yes, I know, “Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?”

Realistic: The first item on the bipartisan agenda will be to destroy Sarah Palin.

Isn’t it time for a National Voter Fraud act...something with teeth?

May not have much weight with Obambi and his comrades controlling the country, but it would force the Democrats to say they are in favor of it...at least they’ll be on record.

“Any thoughts”

You ask for non-paranoid thoughts, but my tin foil is burning tonight.

How about moving to Stika, Alaska. It has a mild weather pattern and is thousands of miles from the radioactive wind currents.

Alaska is also administered by Sarah. I hear that it is a very nice place and a vacation destination. People hunt and fish for food.

Lets go.

2. The Fairness Doctrine gets touted once more, but actually fails.

Why do you think it will fail. No or at least very slim, possibly of a filibuster. Pelosi will ram it through the house with hardly any effort. If they, Reid, Pelosi and Obama want it, it'll get done. That's pretty much true of anything they want.

1) Look for the fulfillment of the unions card-check fantasies.

2) An effective tax increase with the lapse of the Bush tax cuts in 2010. Further tax increases in the form of massive new jobs programs.

3) Substantial cuts in defense spending.

4) A serious and possibly successful attack on the tax credits associated with 401(k)s.

5) Georgia is annexed by Russia. Other former Soviet states re-enter the Russian sphere of influence.

6) Iraq is abandoned and it's nascent democracy is snuffed out in renewed sectarian violence.

Agree on 1-5, but since Iraq is so big on the global radar screen, it won’t be as fast as the others.

And #1 was meant to be 12-digit funding... as in hundreds of billions every year. A trillion dollars during Obama's (first?) 4 years is not out of the question. He'll be touted as a Savior, saving millions of lives.

As dark as the early Clinton days seemed at first, they were soon followed by some very heady days:

Things are much worse. Clinton was power hungry but pragmatic. Obama is a left wing ideologue. The House and Senate are much more in control of the 'rats, and those 'rats are for the most part, far more left wing than what Clinton had to work with, especially the leadership.

11) In a huge payback to the abortion industry, the democrats sign the Freedom of Choice Act, effectively eliminating any restrictions on abortion whatsoever. Partial birth abortion once again becomes legal, as do any restrictions of minors being able to get abortions without their parents consent. The Hyde amendment is discarded and the federal government pays for abortions for women who are poor and unable to afford paying for their own abortion.

12) A new batch of ACLU lawyers are appointed to federal judiciaries, including possibly the supreme court, using their newfound power to promote far left policies that the democrat legislators wouldn’t be caught dead supporting.

13) Homosexuals become a protected minority, allowing homosexual activists to aggressively prosecute any small business, school, or private charity that does not explicitly endorse the homosexual lifestyle as a normal and acceptable alternative to heterosexuality.

14) The democrats pass the Violence Against Women Act II, giving women who divorce their husbands and claim that they feel threatened free governemnt paid for attorneys to pursue custody of minor children, child support, and alimony.

"My escape plans usually involve warmer climates!"

Yes, Hawaii is wonderful for a get away and we've been going there in winter for a while. But, it is the home state of you know who now. Sunny climes have been taken over, don't you think? There is no where to turn but into the hills or far north.

If there is total social collapse, Alaska might be a safe place. http://www.sitka.com/

I fear for the good people of Taiwan. They’re dead ducks. The Marxist won’t lift a finger to defend them when the ChiComs invade.

Hubby sniped at the poll worker today [the Dem one] because she didn’t ask us for ID.

[We showed ours any way]

He asked her *why* nobody had to show ID and she said “Because MD doesn’t have a fraud problem”

[okay...are you up off the floor and done laughing, yet?]

The second she got done saying that I sniped “We won’t have a fraud problem until the bill on “early voting” passes.”

She looked...um...”vexed”.

And it will pass.

Apparently the Bawlmer voters are getting snotty about having to get out of their graves, en masse on a scheduled day.

Her further rationale was “if you’re not in this book, you don’t vote”.

Pfffft.
If somebody knows my address and birthday, they can be “me”.

Luckily, the 2 [R] poll workers are ladies I literally grew up with so the odds of it happening to *me* are zilch.

Other people in the state not living in ‘everybody knows everybody else’ communities?

Not so much.

And Israel might just slip Taiwan a couple of nukes.

No cheers, unfortunately.
