OAKDALE At least two Spanish-language ballots were pre-marked for Barack Obama at a rural Oakdale precinct Tuesday morning, causing election officials to confiscate and inspect all the blank ballots.
"I consider this extremely serious," said Lee Lundrigan, Stanislaus County clerk and registrar of voters. "We've sent an additional person to the precinct, and everyone is now watching each other."
The incident happened about 9:20 a.m. at the River Oak Grace Community Church polling place on Rodden Road just north of Oakdale.
Hector Parra, who doesn't speak English, was handed a Spanish-language ballot, which he took to the voting station. A moment later, he went to the precinct workers seeking help. Since there was no designated translator working at the time, the precinct's staff asked if anyone in the crowded room could speak Spanish.
Sylvia Moreno volunteered to translate, and she said Parra didn't understand why the ballot he was given had been marked.
"He was going to vote for Obama, but it was already filled in for Obama," Moreno said. "He just wondered why."
Moreno explained the problem to precinct workers, who then took Parra's ballot and put it among the "spoiled" ballots. Parra then was handed a second Spanish-language ballot.
"It was marked for Obama, too. It truly was," said Moreno, who witnessed the fresh ballot being handed from the precinct worker to Parra in the middle of the room.
Parra and Moreno immediately reported the problem with the second ballot, and they never moved from the time Parra was handed that ballot to when he handed it back to precinct workers.
"I was shocked," said Lynda Sesser, the precinct's election inspector. "At first I assumed he had (filled in the first ballot) himself, which is why I marked it as spoiled."

This is so unsurprising I’m wondering why it was even reported.
I’m sure this is probably pretty common in foreign-language voting places. I once worked at a polling place in SF where most of the voters were Chinese and the ballots were in Chinese (which I don’t speak or read). Groups of Chinese leftist “activists” would bring in non-English speaking voters and “vote” them, and in at least one case we saw somebody who had brought a group of elderly Chinese distributing ballots that I was sure had been pre-marked. Unfortunately, the precinct captain would not let us do anything.
Yeah, but in some sanctuary cities, latinos are voting with Taco Bell burrito wrappers marked with an “O.”
Here’s another question. How does somebody who doesn’t speak English get to vote? You have to be a citizen to vote, and you have to be able to speak English to become a citizen. I can understand not being able to read all the ballot stuff in English, but this guy doesn’t even speak English.
I know Oakdale, I left my gallbladder in Oakdale. I remember it as pretty conservative.
Granted most of the time I was there I was on morphine, but still, it isn't anything like Oakland!
Oakdale is a small community. Stupid to try this in an area like that. Doubtful it was the work of a group.
How does somebody who doesnt speak English get to vote?

Two words: Puerto Rico.
Originally Spanish language ballots were provided because there are Spanish only speakers who are US citizens by virtue of Puerto Rico being a US territory.
Then guess what?
The courts decided that since Puerto Ricans could live anywhere in the US, everyone had to have access to Spanish language materials.
Then guess what?
The courts decided that this discriminated against Urdu only speakers, so...
Your gallbladder may have been registered to vote. I heard a Phillips screwdriver voted in St. Louis. But, you’re right: Oakdale is quite different from Oakland; for now, anyway.
Why aren’t these “spoiled” ballots being shredded on the spot?
These people are handing out pre-marked ballots as new and now we are asked to believe that a pile of “spoiled” ballots will not be counted “by mistake”?
Please...
Call me xenophobic, but there should not be any such thing as a foreign language ballot in a U.S. election.
BULL. That's when you call the police.

He could've been born here. There was a long time English emersion for ESL students was forbidden. Even now it can be circumvented. Further, it's widely known the English proficiency requirement is being bypassed via a loophole in citizenship laws. Since classic slavery is explicitly unconstitutional Balkanization helps the Democrats meet their aims just the same.
I hate ACORN with all my being.
bttt
Every recent change in voter ID, voter registration, and voting arrangements has been deliberately designed toincrease the number of democrat ballots counted.
not necessarily the number of democrat citizens voting, but certainly the number of democrat ballots counted.
