FOX News is reporting that Republican poll watchers in New Hampshire are being kept 40 feet away from the tables were new voters register. Republicans have filed a lawsuit (to be heard within hours) against the New Hampshire Secretary of State.

Details from NH newspaper:
I just returned from a 4-hour shift as a poll checker for the GOP in Nashua, NH.
Republicans were NOT being kept away or mistreated in our ward. Everything seemed to be completely ok, except for occasional cell phone abuse. The election workers nipped that in the bud as soon as they noticed it.
Many people do show ID, and the election workers were checking it when it was offered. I don’t think it’s illegal to look at it.
I saw only one voter who was asked for ID, which was a woman with a name that is almost always a man’s name. I think the election clerks can ask for some kind of verification if they doubt the voter’s identity.
Well, that’s what she said.
In the past when I’ve shown ID, the workers laughed it off, saying that they’re not supposed to check it. This time, the worker acted like I’d lobbed a bomb onto the desk. It’s also the first time that there were poll watchers at the check-in desks.
***UPDATE: JUDGE HAS RULED IN FAVOR OF GOP! See link at post #21. ***
The NH poll checkers are purely for get-out-the-vote. We didn’t have the right to challenge anyone. We were advised by the GOP to call their hotline if there were any problems, and the legal folks would deal with it.
If you call your name out clearly, the poll checker checks it off the list. If you mumble, you don’t get checked off and the volunteers will start calling you to remind/cajole you to go vote.
If you voted and get a reminder call anyway, don’t be upset. Poll checking is not 100% accurate, and we were trained to leave the name unchecked if we had any doubt.
I haven’t seen poll checkers in previous elections in Nashua either. The GOP was MUCH better organized this year than in 2004. The roster of poll checkers was essentially full for all the voting places in the major towns and cities.
Volunteers are still needed to help with the follow-up calls. If you can spare even an hour or two, go to the GOP office and help with the phones!
'Same day reg/vote? Sounds like a recipe for fraud.'
*** You know an election idea is a really bad idea when Illinois won't do it. I don't have to show ID, but do have to sign a paper (in front of the poll worker) that is then compared to a signature on file. ***
When I voted today in IL, with our youngest daughter, the Election Worker (lady) who 1st checks you in KNOWS us. She told the next guy with the signature verification sheet books our names, and he STILL checked our signatures to make sure they matched and 'we were we'. And right, we didn't have to show a Photo ID either.
And here's something funny (ha-ha funny) that then happened --
Our IL polling place is in our Library. I don't have a Library Card so I got one since I was there. Guess what I had to show the Librarian. Yep, you got it ... a Photo ID!So to commit vote fraud and steal an election in IL all you have to do is fake a signature. But so you can't steal a $4.00 book you have to actually prove who you are!
It also took LONGER to get my Library Card than it did to vote. There were a lot of voters, but plenty of machines, poll workers and everything was smooth. No lines.
(and just in case Barry's goons steals the election I checked out a 'reference' book -- The Art of War by Sun Tzu)
