JUST VOTED.
SOMETHING IS HAPPENING, FOLKS. But honestly, Im not sure what... (Or I’m afraid to to think we can win)
My Suburban/Rural Indiana precinct (Around 1,600 voters) had 390 votes cast at 10:30AM eastern! In 2006, we had 113 cast at 1.30pm!, and 830 total for 2004.
A larger neighboring suburban precinct votes in the same school, and had about 50 in line at that same time!
Turnout is HUGE, and I mean unprecedented.
Our listeners (obviously) have a more conservative outlook, with life and gay-marriage tops on the list of concerns.
By the way, my wife and I voted this past Saturday. Took 90 minutes to get in. Overwhelmingly Obama voters at that time, although I don't like to “judge a book by its cover”.
Brian
4 to 5 times normal turnout (at 7am) at GOP district in central NJ.......
Hamilton County, northeast of Indy. Very Republican. Heavy turnout. Parking lots overflowing at 9:30 a.m. Had very heavy early voting, too. Estimated at 15% of registered voters.
I’m just outside Milwaukee WI. Low/middle class. Lots of apartments, single mothers. Voter turnout is not heavy. Milwaukee always has heavy fraudulent turnout. Heard on the radio that turnout is heavy in the other counties. Republican territory of Waukesha county has record turnout. Great news.
I walked to the corner where people turn on Presidential to vote at Reagan Library. Streams of cars coming and going and backed up at the traffic light. I believe this area of Simi Valley is conservative, so that’s a good sign. (I voted absentee earlier.)
My sister also has (probable) good news re her conservative precinct in So. FL — but I’ll let her post the info herself.
When you post a report here please indicate YOUR LOCATION! Here in Illinois (DuPage County) voting is VERY HEAVY and this is a Red County! I know Obama will probably win Illinois but it is nice to know there are still folks who want McCain/Palin to win. GO MAC GO!
10th VA:
Very heavy as the polls opened but the constituency “seemed” skewed more heavily Democratic than normal (blacks, hippies, gays, NAGs). This should be solid Republican territory but I’d say no more than 50% took a Republican flyer.
Went back about 3 hours later as it started raining, no line at all.
Took almost an hour to vote here in WV. It has never been more than 5 minutes in previous elections. Generally it goes about 65% Rep.
I'm in south Dayton. Three times the wait of a normal presidential election and this is Republican territory.
I'm told that Warren Co., which saved Pres. Bush in 2004, is massive.
FWIW, I voted (Maryland). Line was about 15 min. long — that’s never happened, ever. There was a small group of young teenagers holding M/P signs and for some reason I felt almost moved to tears by that. My little girls (7, 5, 4) were with me, very curious about it all. I just pray for them, I really do.
I did note that two ladies had very Sarah Palin type hair styles.
Voted early in TX, but am enjoying FReeper polling reports. The Fox & Friends coverage of the First Affirmative Action Couple voting in Chicago was a hoot. They were at it for 16 min. and it appeared he was helping her vote. If everyone took that long, we would still be voting tomorrow.
Lot of mid-30 to mid-50 vote and off to work, very few blacks, no youths.
Mid-Florida in a red county, in a precinct with a lot of young families and kids.
Just talked to my friend in Omaha who is waiting for a client. The client is 2 hours late because he’s waiting in line to vote in North Omaha- a heavy minority area of the city.
I’m in Delaware Co., outside of Philly. I went at 6:50 (polls open @ 0700) I was 19th to vote.-In ‘04 election at the same place, got there same time and was 3rd or 4th.
Left at 7:08, and a line of 30 some people were there already. In ‘04 there wasn’t a line yet-they were just trickling in.
God, I hope we pull this out. Nothing to do now but wait.
I just got done voting and it’s busier here then usual, but I’m in a small town so it was still fast.
I have to tell you, for the 1st time ever after voting I cried when I got in the car. I was so proud to cast a vote for Palin a fellow woman, and this election has been so emotional and there’s so much at stake.
Not a good sign here in a “red” part of Central New York. There were many minorities who showed up to vote in my polling location...and they all had to be shown how to operate the voting machine (first time voters).
I just cast my vote a few minutes ago. I waited just over and hour. I got there at 10AM thinking it would be an off time... NOPE. PACKED!!! All white voters, middle aged... some older too. I saw a few cook obama supporters and they had a table with free coffee and donuts... no McCain ops there...
I am encouraged!
McCain wins PA!!!!!!!!
