Out the door in Fairfield, CT. at 5:55am this morning. I have NEVER seen it like that before.

Even here in a very red area of a red state, things are getting ugly.

Huge turnout here in a very red area. I’m off to go work at a polling site!
I voted early due to my work schedule but am hearing that the lines at polling places at least in the more urban Virginia areas are longer than anyone has ever seen - and it is pouring rain.
McCain-Palin supporters along A1A with signs and flags inviting a thumbs up or honking from passers by on the way to the polls.
Southwest Ohio. “Extremely heavy” turnout per the poll worker. 25 people in line at 6:00 (1/2 hour before polls opened) and 75 at open. I was number 220 out of 800 total people for that polling place at 9:30. Had one Obama poll worker with Obama buttons on. 3 Pubbie workers. Pubbies looked happy. Obama worker looked sad. Hopefully, that means that she was giving out far fewer sample ballots. In our district it would be a bad sign if she were not.
Petaluma, CA - No lines, no waiting, empty voting booths in my (liberal) precinct...but it’s early here.
Some idiot didn't post their location, did they?
Don’t know for sure - wife left the house to go vote about 1 hr 20 min. ago. Polling place is about 2 miles from here. She said that there are a LOT of folks there, some confusion, not enough of the “special” ballot marking pencils, long lines, folks filling out ballots with their own ball-point pen, etc.
I hope to get to join the fray before lunch...
Wish someone would make one election day thread we could all just keep watching.
When you comment, please indicate what state you are in and whether that state allowed early voting or not.
Although I voted early here in Florida, I drove by my normal precinct to see how turnout was. Polls opened at 7 a.m. The line had about 150 people at 6:45, which is good news because our neighborhood is 3 to 1 McCain over That One.
It was very slow in the 10th Ward, 2nd precinct of Chicago. I got in about an hour after the polls opened, and mine was the 31st ballot. I was in and out in no time. There were even fewer cars in the lot when I passed it again around 8. It could be an effect of early voting, or it could be people staying home. My area is heavily Democratic, but I’ve seen quite a few McCain and other GOP yard signs this year, and none for Obama until this morning around the polling place.
Sarah just cast her vote here in Wasilla, cameraman seemed to have a fetish looking at everybody legs.
Here in Indian River Co. in Florida, no lines, no waiting just a flow of folks coming and going.
No telling what it’l be like later.
I think if McCain runs well in the rural parts of Upstate Ny then he has a shot at taking New York. He could end up with 350 EV's when the night is done.
My wife and I went & voted at 9 am (AZ) — no wait — got right in, but that is no indication of anything, since they recently broke up a large precinct into smaller precincts, and our new precinct is very small, and this is the first general election at this new small precinct.
Fingers crossed and praying NoBama NoWay ... May God save our country from Communism.
