I voted early due to my work schedule but am hearing that the lines at polling places at least in the more urban Virginia areas are longer than anyone has ever seen - and it is pouring rain.
I walked out of the polling place at 7:33 this morning, and it wasn’t too bad (there were about 15 people there when I got there at 7:20). Certainly the most busy I’ve seen it, but then, my neighborhood has a lot of retired people who will probably wait a bit longer to vote; so it will likely be a lot busier later...
Very heavy, very early in Az....Scottsdale area....reportedly many young voters...not sure if that’s good or bad out here.
Local reports in Grand Rapids say there are 3 hour waits at city polling stations. The surburban areas are seeing wait times at about 15 min-30 minutes right now.
Very heavy turnout in King George County Virginia VA. Perhaps 10 times the usual turnout by my estimation at my usual morning voting time. Parking lot, grassy areas, filled with parked cars and folks going in to vote in the rain. (Not sure if 10x can possibly be correct, but the lines certainly seemed that much longer than usual.)
King George is a red county in Virginia in Presidential races (and for other offices too).
King George is a mostly rural county.
My local precinct was well-staffed and well prepared for the larger crowds.
