i read in our town's newspaper yesterday that voters and poll workers were not to wear any candidate buttons at the polls... i don't know what would happen if someone did wear one... it said nothing about t-shirts...
Just talked to my friend in Omaha who is waiting for a client. The client is 2 hours late because he’s waiting in line to vote in North Omaha- a heavy minority area of the city.
I’m in Delaware Co., outside of Philly. I went at 6:50 (polls open @ 0700) I was 19th to vote.-In ‘04 election at the same place, got there same time and was 3rd or 4th.
Left at 7:08, and a line of 30 some people were there already. In ‘04 there wasn’t a line yet-they were just trickling in.
God, I hope we pull this out. Nothing to do now but wait.
I just got done voting and it’s busier here then usual, but I’m in a small town so it was still fast.
I have to tell you, for the 1st time ever after voting I cried when I got in the car. I was so proud to cast a vote for Palin a fellow woman, and this election has been so emotional and there’s so much at stake.
Thought I’d give others a chance to indicate their location. I have posted along with others that I am in West Michigan. Sorry to disappoint....
Not a good sign here in a “red” part of Central New York. There were many minorities who showed up to vote in my polling location...and they all had to be shown how to operate the voting machine (first time voters).

I just cast my vote a few minutes ago. I waited just over and hour. I got there at 10AM thinking it would be an off time... NOPE. PACKED!!! All white voters, middle aged... some older too. I saw a few cook obama supporters and they had a table with free coffee and donuts... no McCain ops there...
I am encouraged!

Voted here in West Covina, outside Los Angeles. My polling place is always deserted. There were probably 25 people in line at 7:00, but the people looked like Obommunists. The heavy turnout could also be for Prop 8, which would ban gay marriage. Obama will probably do well in California, but we knew that from the get go.
I voted around 8am in Metrowest Boston area (about 20 miles west of Boston). Parking spaces at a premium, but no lines inside. Got in and out pretty quickly. Not crowded at all.
I was primarily there to vote for Jeff Beatty, who is running against Senator John Kerry.
Doesn’t matter who I vote for President, since Obama will win Massachusetts no matter how I vote. But I voted for McCain/Palin just the same.
Kerry will probably win in a landslide, but I was feeling lucky.

Something tells me that that particluar voting location probably doesn't qualify as a Very red area
Well, I'm sure that's the case in some areas, but this is more of a rich liberal area. Lots of the folks here have to commute to work, so they vote when they get home. BTW... I was #51 in my precinct, polls had been open for about an hour and ten minutes.
I’m in Mantua Oh (NE Ohio) population 5,600 waited in line 1 1/2 hours. Poll guy said the wait was much longer early this morning. There was a girl doing an exit poll for NBC, CBS, ABC, she was stopping every 3rd voter asking them to take the poll. If the voter refused she would wait for the next 3rd person. From my observations 2 out of 3 refused to take the poll. Sidenote: There was a guy in line with full army fatigues his cell phone went off and it play the “I’m proud to be an American” song. Made me get a big lump in my throat.

Got to our polling location at 6:30 am. The church parking lot was full. The line went out the door. My town is said to be conservative. But, I live in Arizona. Would be surprised for it not to go to McCain.

Huge turnout here in a relatively red area of suburban St. Louis. 100 in line as polls opened.
Well-behaved, quiet crowd, voting before work, which suggests Republicans. One loud-mouthed Democrat in line getting an absolute boner over the fact that CNN said that Dick Cheney’s hometown newspaper was endorsing 0bama.
Poll workers were talking gun safes, and concealed carry classes, amongst themselves-a very good sign. I asked an elderly female worker who was in on the gun talk if she would marry me.
Refused the free coffee coupon from Communist Starbucks and told the Polling Place supervisor why.
Here in South Carolina, I got in line at 0830, voted at about 1000. Straight Republican ticket. I took my mom with me. She hasn’t voted for president since she voted for Nixon in 1960. She’s voting now because she’s scared to death of obama.
Here in Gainesville,FL it was like a ghost town around 8:30 this morning. There were only two other people voting when I went. They did check registration and photo ID and asked me to recite my address. I did notice in the poll book most of the names had already voted stamped by them so I assume there was massive early voting at least in my precinct.This is a 2:1 Dem area btw.

Hopefully this is an example of Dems running out of voters and Republicans catching up and, perhaps, blowing by the Dems.
