OK. You've gone out and voted, like a good citizen. Tell us about it.

How was turnout? Were there any problems at your polling place? Who do you think will win your local races?

Just curiously, FR was down for about 40 minutes. Did everyone experience that? Can we expect this all day?

Just got back from voting in Stamford, CT, an ultra-blue suburb of NYC.

Was in and out in under five minutes. Nothing unusual.

I guess it is not unlawful in PA to plaster campaign signs all over the doors of the polling station, because 0bama/Biden was on every square inch here.
And it’s odd, because this area generally goes 60/40 for the Republican, if not better.
No lines. We’re in a rural area.

In this swing state, this county/precint is historically and heavily Republican, BUT during 'Operation Chaos, county temporarily voted Dem.

Arrived at preceint polling place 6:15...long lines already. Orderly, inside really crowded, out by 6;50...lines ousides much much longer. Just a short distance away, passed another polling place...three acres of parked cars, and more parked across the street. HEAVY turnout in this Republican county.

This thread was dead from 8:59 to 9:58 EST. I was out and about, so I didn't notice...

Haven’t voted yet because my precinct is in the local Catholic grammar school and in the mornings it’s a zoo... parking hard to find, whatnot. So I’ll stop on my way home.

But I wanted to share this from the bagel shop. I don’t usually eat breakfast but decided to get something this morning since I was running early. A couple of ladies who looked to be about my age (early 50s) were ahead of me. One had very long, completely gray hair and looked like an aging hippie. I was thinking, “gee I can guess how she voted.”

Gal behind the counter said to everyone “well are you ready for a new president?” Aging hippie said “YES!! I can’t WAIT!” Confirming my guess.

Counter gal said “we’ll be making history!” So I said, “right, no matter who wins! We could have a woman in the White House!”

Counter gal said, “exactly!” Silence from aging hippie as I left.

Yes. We have about a million newbies who want to use this board like a chat room by posting a useless vanity post every five seconds.

That besides the usual dos attacks, trolls and disruptors. Strap in for a wild ride.

I’m more worried about Frank Wolf here in NVA. The liberal candidate is a loon.

But at least she's a real looker! [shudder]

Seriously, she is about the only Congressional candidate I've seen/heard of who is actively tying herself to the Obamessiah. I'm sure there are more out there, but given the supposed Obama landslide shouldn't almost all the Dem candidates be hanging onto his legs?

Voted this morning at 8:05 in Woodstock, GA.
Heavily Republican county, went 70-30 Bush/Kerry in ‘04.
First time I can remember having to stand in line in my voting district to get a voter card.
We vote electronic in Georgia and ID is required.

Turnout significantly heavier than 2000 and 2004. VERY red district in Georgia (Linder). I was in line at 6:30 and voted at 8:30. In both 2000 and 2004 I did not get there until after 7 and voted in less than an hour.

Great to see you here, Fox!
I’m pulling for Col. West. I expect that campaign has kept you quite busy of late.

No ID required here in North Central Illinois. In fact there were Hispanic who couldn’t speak English voting. My wife went off on that when we got back into the car. :)

There was a concealed carry referendum on the ballot. We both voted YES!! on that one for sure.

21 cars in the lot when we arrived. Precinct 3 had a line inside, but we were able to walk right up to the table for our precinct 7. Our of a dozen booths, two were open so we were able to walk right up and vote. As we left, there were more coming in and the parking lot had a few more cars.

On the way home there was a car in front of us with “VOTE OBAMA” plastered over its rear window. Yeah, right. Not in this life, Dumbo...

It looks good Mom.... Col. West is going to be at dozens of polling stations today.... his opponent is hiding under his desk! We were up at 3:30 a.m. getting signs and people in place with material throughout both counties....

It’s gonna be close!!!!

I also could not get on FR for over half an hour. Panic! It is my lifeline to the rest of the real USA. Was greatly relieved when I was able to connect.

RAT invested precinct in Northeast Ohio - older union kool aid drinkers mostly, plus some aging hippies.

Light turnout at 9:00 am. I was in and out in 15 minutes. However, I am hearing reports of long waits at other RAT infested precincts.

Posted to another thread:

I just called in my first ever election complaint, no one asked for my ID at 7 am this morning. While on the phone with the election administrator for the county he said we had 60,000 more early votes than ever before and the highest percent in Texas. This is Tom DeLay’s former district and heavily Republican.

Here in Louisiana.

My brother and I went by the polling place this morning. It was cold and there was a line outside, so we came back later.

Voted McCain/Palin, voted for Bill Cassidy for congress, and John Kennedy for senate, as well as a few other odds and ins, but those are the biggies.
