With just hours to go before the polls open Tuesday, the latest and final IBD/TIPP Tracking Poll shows Sen. Barack Obama with a 7.2-point lead over Sen. John McCain (51.5% Obama vs. 44.3% McCain). All other candidates garner a combined 4.2%. This tally represents IBD/TIPPs final estimate after allocating undecided voters.

According to the internals Obama loses everybody's vote but still wins the election.
Frankly, I don't see where his massive support is coming from!
He is going to do worse then Kerry did.
I was listening to Fox and Friends this morning when they were interviewing Brian Wilson. He said when he was in the battleground states he said that the mood out on the street is much different than what the polls indicate and he’s not trusting the polls too.
Just go vote
We know no such thing.
The polls are way off and Obama is not going to get over 45% of the vote.
Obama joins the ranks of Gore and Kerry tonight.
Exactly correct.
This was about appearances, not reality.
Hoping to depress our base, but it didn't work and we will win this.
Yep. Yep.
IMHO, pollsters are no longer merely irrelevant and inept; they are fraudulent. They know damn well that an overall, general matchup poll means squat on election day. The media knows it too. But in classic liberal fashion, they ignore the reality of the electoral college in favor of what they wish were so. They despise the wisdom of our founding fathers who anticipated the tyranny of huge urban centers.
Obviously wrong. Obama will not win in the south.
His northeast and west numbers are so high that it skews the electoral vote thinking.
As someone pointed out yesterday, McCain could lose the national popular vote by as much as 4% and STILL win the EV.
If huge disparities in the Northeast and West Coast skew the results enough, it could throw off any national poll, BECAUSE that disparity would also affect REPUBLICAN stats coming out of those states. Many pubbies must vote Obama in those regions to get that vote disparity.
The bottom line is that EVERY SINGLE PERSON in California or NY could vote for Obama, and they’d still get only the prescribed number of Electoral votes. What it would do is wildly skew the national polls.
I won’t believe it unless it happens, but if it happens and 0 is the winner...
at least it wasn’t Hillary Clinton.
Sure, 0 might be worse. But we have been spared seeing the Clintons swaggering back into the White House.
Perhaps the GOP will see the folly of selecting a RINO to head the ticket. That is good.”
I wish I could be this optimistic. I have a terrible feeling they will all blame her and say “see we can't afford to run conservatives anymore.”
I hope I'm wrong.
Why even post this today?
Ignore the damn polls and VOTE!!!!!!
GO PA!!! Get out there and take this country back!
When Hunter gets nominated, we will see.
You own these numbers Pollsters, now lets see if you have any credibility.
Pray for McCuda and Our Troops
obama always polled 7% too high and this is juuuust right.
not to bee too conspiratorial, but remember obama bots calling and attacking news outlets?
A news outlet can aford to have a poll be wrong, can they afford to have their reporters kicked off the airplanes?
Getting rid of Murtha, getting Pa in the Red column, and beating Obama-what a great day it is going to be!
Yeah, that would be sweet. Remember when Daschle got canned? Ah... good times!
Unfortunately, I believe this poll to be somewhat correct. It generally samples more conservatives than the other polls. It looks to be a long evening.
Of course regardless, we should do our civic duty and vote against Marxism and fight the good fight we know to be right.
Either the poll is screwed up or half the country is.
This poll is completely unrelated to the way this election will turn out.
