An LGF reader contacted Columbia University (and a lot of other potential sources, including the LA Times) with a polite request that they help release the tape of Rashid Khalidi with Barack Obama (the video the Los Angeles Times has ... unbelievably ... decided to suppress during a hotly contested election):

Subject: Please release Khalidis 2003 tape
Dear Madam or Sir,
It has come to my attention that the LA Times in in possession of a tape recording a 2003 farewell party for Rashid Khalidi. In an article, the LA Times said:
The event was videotaped, and a copy of the tape was obtained by The Times.
This event was attended by Senator Barrack Obama. As this is an election period, as journalists, you have the moral obligation to release any and all information you possess about both candidates.
I would be grateful if you can release the videotape. Its our right as Americans to learn about our candidates.
Cordially,
[redacted]
The outrageous response he received, from a director of Columbia Universitys Business School:

Sorry, not buying it.
Sid - quite the professional, aren’t you?
Wow, what a dignified response.
The owner of LGF is very careful about not posting rumors or rubbish, unless it’s qualified as such.
I believe it.
Figures he’d be director of admissions...
Palin there are no such things as anti-american parts of America...um except for uh well some of the college campi, and well ok Berkley and well umm yes the colleges that refuse and ban the ROTC (our soldiers) from campus.

I sued to thinks so too, until he delinked from Robert Spencer, suggesting that that fine man had gone neo-Fascist and genocidal.
Unfortunately, Charles Johnson whose past merits are many and worthy, is slipping over the edge and his LGF comment section is a place where anyone, ANYONE who even slightly disagrees with him gets booted out faster than at Democratic Underground.
Don’t believe me? Give it a try. And it’s a damned shame.
Hey Robert Spencer! Robert Spencer!!! A Fascist in the eyes of Charles Johnson!
Well, the bit of news in question here, from Columbia University might be true, but LGF is plunging into wierdom.
What does he do when a conservative student applies at Columbia?
“Nice try, loser.”
I just read your response -- "Yeah, right...loser" -- to someone who politely requested help getting the tape of Rashid Khalidi with Barack Obama (the one the Los Angeles Times is holding hostage).
Is this how you reply to someone applying for admission to Columbia's business school, too?
With people like you being given jobs and titles that are way too big for them, no wonder foreigners think America is arrogant.
