Shameless Pathetic Vanity! DO WE REALLY HAVE A CHANCE?
11/03/08 | me

I'm making myself sick with worry. I can't drag myself away from FR, can't get anything done and am worried beyond belief! Do you all honestly think we will pull this out? The thought of Obama winning scares the daylights out of me! I know I should ignore the polls but they are weighing me down. I will hit my knees at 9:00 p.m. and pray to our God that we don't get what we really deserve.

Is there a reason to have faith? I believe there is. Polls consistently favor Democrats, usually by 5-10 points. Why is this a possibility this year? The party identity found in most of the polls are making a huge assumption about the supposed Democratic advantage this year. The 2006 election, a terrible one for Republicans, had a party identity gap of roughly 3 points. In 2004 the parties were equal. Now Gallup is factoring in a 10 point advantage for the Democrats. If this gap actually comes out equal to the 2006 results a swing of 14 points toward McCain would occur. If Republicans show up in equal numbers to Democrats the swing would be 20 points. The Rasmussen poll uses similar weighting. Their advantage for Democrats is 6.5. If the 2006 turn out is matched then there would be a swing of 7 points toward McCain. If the 2004 turnout numbers is repeated then there would be a 13 point shift toward McCain. These are huge shifts and the pollsters have no way of knowing for sure who will show up tomorrow.

The bottom line - VOTE!!!! Get your friends to vote. Help your elderly neighbor to get to the polls.

We not only have a shot, we’re winning. Here’s how.

1) ACORN has created fraudulent Democrat voters. Mickey Mouse is not going to the poll. But, the pollsters use the bloated and fraudulent numbers from the voter rolls to decide who to call. If the rolls say there are eight percent more Dems than Reps they call eight percent more Dems than Reps. But two, three or five percent of that difference doesn’t exist.

2) When they say that say 52percent of the people answered one way and 48 another that’s not exactly true. The BIGGEST group are the people who say “sorry, I don’t have time” or “go to hell, you media-fascist lying sack of crap...” These people are OVERWHELMINGLY McCain supporters. How do I know? First, Republicans are far more likely to have a life. If you don’t have a job you’re more likely to be a Democrat. If you don’t have a family (no spouse or kids) you’re more likely to be a Democrat, if you don’t have community or church obligations you are more likely to be a Democrat. Also, who is likely to tell the media to go to hell, an Obama supporter who owes them everything or a Republican who recognizes them as corrupt and on the side of evil?

Then there’s the Bradley Effect which is going to be huge. Why? Because the Bradley Effect measures the FEAR of being attacked as a “racist.” Given the thuggery that is the heart and soul of the Democrats’ efforts it’s just smarter and easier to say “Obama” and get back to your life than risk having the stranger on the phone who knows your phone number, your name and likely your address and place of employ, that you’re supporting McCain.

We’re doing great. Now get people to the polls.

This country is moving sharply to the left and it scares me

What scares me is that the country is moving sharply to the left and is unaware it is doing it. The sheep think they are voting for the cute Sanjaya on Americans Idle!

Yes, dormee, I truly believe we are going to win. I’ve been saying that for two weeks. Check this out:

Hillary won the battleground states by double digits. Now, with McCain gaining her supporters, “Joe the Plumber’s” converts, those who are offended at being called racist rednecks by Jack Murtha, those accused of clinging to God and guns out of fear and now Obama’s COALgate gaffe; how on earth does the liberal media think Obama will win states like OH, PA and CO.

Even AP/Yahoo news ran a story today saying Obama could likely win the popular vote and lose the Electoral Vote. See my tagline and let not your heart be troubled.

***Stop worrying and go vote. Get yourself saved, as well and put your trust in Christ, then you’ll learn to not worry.***

You’re absolutely right, that might be what this election is REALLY all about...making us all cling a little tighter to our Bibles.

Such a ridiculous question.

Obama is going down in flames tomorrow.

Your headline might as well read:

I THINK I BELIEVE THE MSM, AM I WRONG?

Do we have a chance?

YES!

Tomorrow we will witness the most astonishing electoral turn-around in our history.

The pollsters will have to junk all their models; the media will be forced to eat such an enormous helping of crow that Keith Olbermann will vomit in Chris Matthews’ lap right on the air.

“Dewey beats Truman” will no longer be the standard by which we measure such things.

Blessings to you RG. I’m sorry for sounding so critical but nothing can be accomplished by worrying. Nothing is accomplished by hoping, either. Action brings results. Go pray, go vote. Dormee, you’ll be in my prayers.

Republicans are less likely to talk to the Pollsters I heard today cause it’s kind of like the pollsters are a wing of journalism. The polls are not telling us everything.

Remember after you pray to thank the Lord for this mighty victory. And when the election is done make sure we all thank the Lord Almighty and forget not His victory. Lets be faithful to honor Him and thank Him with grateful praise.

Bare in mind above all else that this world is not our home, and the worse things are the easier it is to keep that fact in focus.

Obama will, if elected, make this nation just another run-of-the-mill nation much like European countries, that's true. Those who are not supporters of the Party will experience persecution on many levels and in many ways and to unprecedented degrees.

But God is still in control. Although he may allow us to blunder into throwing away our liberty and ruining the great American Experiment, He is not threatened by another triumph of tyranny over freedom in the world. That's what human nature brings when allowed to run amok.

And He IS still a God of miracles. After bringing together the anarchists, socialists, perverts and all manner of God-haters, He can once again change a Saul into a Paul in a way that even Obama himself can not resist if He chooses.

"Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

These brave Iraqis had to gather the courage to vote while AQ vowed to slaughter them for doing so. They showed us why our freedom cannot be taken for granted, and how each of their votes made a difference!

Call McCain headquarters in your area tomorrow and volunteer to drive people to the polls.

Seriously.

We’ve gone through this in every election since I’ve been on Free Republic. During the 2004 Bush-Kerry run, there were Freepers throwing up their hands because of the polling, then the exit polls, etc. STOP WORRYING ABOUT THIS, PEOPLE. You do what you can to promote McCain, but the rest is out of your control, so relax, clean your weapons, and see what happens.
