I'm making myself sick with worry. I can't drag myself away from FR, can't get anything done and am worried beyond belief! Do you all honestly think we will pull this out? The thought of Obama winning scares the daylights out of me! I know I should ignore the polls but they are weighing me down. I will hit my knees at 9:00 p.m. and pray to our God that we don't get what we really deserve.

OK, I'll leak some more. I consider this revenge on Rasmussen for not cancelling my subscription despite several requests.

Here's the I split breakdown... positive McCain, negative Obama (* means that it crosses 50):

• NC: 9*
• PA: 13*
• CO: -17 (Worrisome... but Kerry got Is by 7%)
• MO: 5*
• FL: 9*
• OH: 5 (Mac at 49%)
• VA: -2 (Obama at 49%)

AFAIK McCain is outperforming Kerry in all but CO and VA. That may well be what the election's coming down to... CO and VA, although the logistics of CO are hard to imagine. McCain's not been spending much time in CO, but he's sure in NM and NV, both of which were tougher sells than CO in 2004. My CO-multigenerational-born-and-bred husband informs me there's nothing that happened in CO since 2004 could cause CO to become more competitive than NM and NV.

I can't get the ratios Rasmussen used (one reason he's a big waste of money), but every time I've extrapolated the R/D/I breakdowns to match what that state polled in 2000, a 7% edge is typical, the same that he does for his national polls. I'm dangerously close to assuming he just blanket-sauces 7% to the Dems in the final result. I'm probably not going to get to do the calculations this time around, but you're probably right-on if you just add 7+ to any of the above results.

Good evening. Yeah, I’m digging the mid-70s weather. It’s been great! Too bad the daylight doesn’t lasat. Yeah, I heard something about snow by the weekend. Oh well. I voted last month by absentee. I thought I might have to go out of town on business this week but I don’t. I have tomorrow off so I am staying up late with Mr. Guinness and Mr. Coffee.
