Barack Obama and John McCain are evenly matched in the swing states of North Carolina and Missouri, though Obama is strongly outpacing McCain in two of those states crucial battleground counties, according to new Politico/InsiderAdvantage polls.

poll results only reflect the statements of people who answer the friggin phone.
Personally, I have caller ID and NEVER take an evening call from a pollster.
What’s with this DIGG stuff?? Did DIGG take over FREEREPUBLIC???I refuse to go on anything that says “....DIGG”
I am too old and grumpy to “DIGG” or “TWITTER”. I let my kids do that.
“All four survrys taken on Oct 31st”...old news by now...needs to be updated.
i find it disconcerting that MO and NC are even considered swing states
especially NC
Georgia, North Carolina, and the rest of the Deep South: Black turnout for Obama will be huge. It wont be enough. Not even close. McCain will win the Tarheel State by eight points. The rest of the states between South Carolina and Louisiana will select him by ten points plus.
and
Missouri: Just like the last couple times, a Clinton appointee will order polling places to stay open until midnight, but only in Jackson County and St. Louis City. A federal judge will shut the polls down because the first judge wouldnt keep polls open in the more Republican St. Louis County, which similarly experienced long lines and delays. The Show me state wont like what Obama has shown them. McCain will clear the 50% hurdle.
RCP has McCain up in both these states.
I don’t think its that close in NC, but I could be wrong.
I think not. Those are solid red states. McCain will win by at least 10% in both of those states. This election could come down to Colorado or Pennsylvania. If McCain gets Pennsylvania it is all over, if he doesn’t then he might need Colorado. Either way I see him winning.
You are correct. I have guaranteed NC for our side, and I’m never wrong.
If Obama is “strongly outpacing” McCain in “key” counties of states where McCain and Obama are neck and neck, then that means McCain is “strongly outpacing” Obama everywhere else in those states.
White voters have left STL County in droves over the past 20 years, moving to St. Charles or Warren or Lincoln, even Pike, counties. The demographics have changed completely; the County Council is under a 'Rat hammerlock.
The last time STL County was representatively populated was probably 1984, perhaps 1988. For pollsters to STILL use this county as an indicator is simply laughable.
See post #13. McCain carries MO, no problem.
I’ve lived in NC my entire life, and if it goes for UHHbama, I’ll be more surprised than ever before in my life.
EXCEPT for this thread? I say the same thing when I'm eating something like Sun chips "yeah, this will be my last one." It doesn't work very well.
Ok, nothing from politico, halperin and the others. I didn’t know this.
