After an opening act by country music legend Hank Williams Jr., Sen. John McCain is expected to appear about midnight tonight at the Yavapai County Courthouse in Prescott, according to the McCain campaign and the Prescott Daily Courier.

Planners changed McCain's estimated time of appearance to midnight, according to the Prescott newspaper. Earlier reports indicated he would appear about 9 p.m.

The Victory Rally begins at 9 p.m. McCain's wife, Cindy, is expected to attend.

The streets directly surrounding the plaza will be closed to traffic as early as 6:30 p.m., the paper reported. Gates to the Victory Rally open at 9 p.m., and people will need to pass through a metal detector.

Prescott is symbolic as it is where Barry Goldwater made his presidential run announcement.

Mccain Palin Tradition

Hank Williams Jr.

The left wing liberal media have
Always been a real close knit family
But, most of the American People
Don’t believe em anyway ya see
Stop and think it over
Before you make your decision
If they smell something
They’re gonna come down strong
It’s a McCain - Palin tradition

Now this old Union’s got problems
That is plain to see
The Democrats bankrupted Fannie Mae N Freddie Mac
Just like 1, 2, 3
The bankers didn’t want to make all those bad loans,
But Bill Clinton said you got to
Now they want a bail out, what I’m talking about
Is a Democrat liberal who doo

John N Sarah tell ya
Just what they think
And they’re not gonna blink
They don’t have terrorist friends
To whom their careers are linked
Yes, John is his own man
And Sarah fixed Alaska’s broken condition
They’re gonna go just fine
We’re headed for better times
It’s a McCain - Palin tradition

I am very proud of our country’s name
But no society is perfect
And we have had our stains
If I’m down at the coffee shop and
Somebody starts to give our flag friction
We say please move on
Cause we’re standing strong
That’s an old John McCain tradition

John N Sarah tell ya
Just what they think
And they’re not gonna blink
And they’re gonna fix this country
Cause they’re just like you N ole Hank
Yes John is a maverick
And Sarah fixed Alaska’s broken condition
They’re gonna go just fine
We’re headed for better times
It’s a McCain - Palin tradition

Some are bound to tell you I’m
Preaching to the choir
And that is very true
And we are going even higher
Like a mama bear in Idaho
She’ll protect your family’s condition
If you mess with her cubs
She’s gonna take off the gloves
It’s an American female tradition

They all want to know Sarah
Why do you hunt
John why do you fish
How could she be so smart and savvy
Such a ‘hey good-lookin” dish
Yes John is his own man
And Sarah fixed Alaska’s bad condition
They’re going to get it right
We’re going to see the light
It’s a McCain - Palin tradition

I'll be there in Prescott this evening. I hope to post some photos if they turn out OK.

Prescott, AZ is everyone’s home town.

I just hope they don't close down the adjacent local wateringholes (Whiskey Row) for the event.

Wish me luck and Viva Palin!

Whatever happened to John Rich?

He wrote that Rasin’ McCain song over the summer; opened for several McCain rallies; rode the plane after Palin ws picked; performed at the convention; but has been MIA last couple of months.

Williams seems to have taken his place since about late September.

Mine too...! One is ditching work to man the phone banks, says no way can she cut short and does not feel so sure anymore about Bambi’s lead...... I also had some Hollywood friends this weekend point blank say its our pocket books we are voting this time around.... they have money, make money and are not about to give it up in tough times like these.....

I also have a cocky Texan Republican bartender whom has bet half the regulars McCain wins based on the idea behind the curtain. last minute.... Bambi’s pretend followers bail on him.........

In fact I wish “all my liberal friends” weren’t so nervous, I want them to stay the hell away and instead be worried about where to party for their big “celebration”.

Just saw Travis Tritt and Marty Stuart last night. Wish I had the fuel money to go up to Prescott for this. :(
