That’s a good point, and I’ve wondered if that might happen. Let me assure you: long lines won’t discourage me. I’ve factored in taking the whole day off work if necessary, just like Obama suggested. ;-)Of course, Mr. O will be disappointed in whom I vote for!

They are polling people who have already voted. Sort of like exit polling for early voting.

No, not actual ballots. More like an exit poll...

In fairness to the MSM — I can’t believe I’m sticking up for them! — I think even a nonbiased, very conscientious pollster would have Obama ahead...because people are LYING/FIBBING to the pollsters! Republicans who are polled will probably be fine with saying they’ll vote for McCain, but Dems and Independents don’t want to marked down as “racist”. At this point, I believe that most of the pollsters are accurate, which just means they are reporting who people tell them they will vote for, which is not necessarily who they will vote for.

Agreed. Fox has trashed-out. I now watch no TV news.

Fox has apparently forgotten the Golden Rule of broadcasting..

KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE.

Apparently, they no longer care.

Tweaking off a good 75% of your viewers by ALSO "being in the tank" and doing biased reporting is not a long term strategy for success, IMHO.

I can’t wait for the MSM to tell us “No one could have seen this coming!” It’s a shame that people like Brit Hume have even continued to cite these faulty polls. I’m just glad that this will spell the end of junk sites like RCP and 538.com.

I thought Freepers were full of it when they kept putting the positive spin on 06. This time, I think we have it nailed. The oversampling is criminal.

Then again, maybe they did, and a whole bunch of Dems are voting McCain.

Sounds like that "halo effect" has hit the polls.
Non-blacks wouldn't tell a pollster (in person or on the phone) that
they were not voting for Obama...and risk the reasonable likelihood
of being called a racist to their face.

And blacks couldn't say they were not voting for Obama for fear
of being labeled "Uncle Tom" or "traitor to your people".

If McCain wins, Obama and his cult members are going find the
pollsters were lied to more...
than investors were lied to by Wall Street and gov. officials
this past year.

The Catholic folk should have their eyes open and come through. It can be the difference and would be in the battleground.

Archangel Michael and Raphael, open their eyes....

Which leads one to ask who tends to vote early?

Early Voting in the 2000 and 2004 Presidential Elections

I seem to remember that exit polling was not too reliable. Why would an undecided (someone who didn’t want their voting preference known) suddenly come out of a polling place to declare their choice. It seems to me that historically, the Republicans win that contest be larger numbers than is reported.

I was skeptical ANYONE at this stage was an Undecided voter but it’s TRUE! THERE IS STILL HOPE the undecideds will break for McPAL if this is any indication of that!

Impossible. The Messiah has already congratulated McCain on having run a good race. It is over - Obama won.

Fits in nicely with Team Obama's strategy in the waning days/hours of the campaign to give off the aura that he's already won.

Sorry I disagree with you and so would “President Kerry”
as 2004 exit polls had Kerry winning even on election day. I have yet to meet a Republican who agreed to to be polled on exit polls. I don’t think those polls will be accurate this year as people don’t want to hostilely be confronted after a private vote.

As I understand it, this is a very simple poll.

They pollster calls. You answer. The pollster asks “Have you already voted?” You answer yes or no. If you answer no, the pollster says thank you, and hangs up. If you say yes, the pollster asks “Who did you vote for president?”. And you either answer “Obama” or “McCain” or “None of your d*** business.”

That’s the poll.

I thought it was just the opposite. Republicans are typically early voters. But I know rats have been pushing it this year so they are just canabalizing their vote.
