This is like people saying that socialism doesn’t “work” - it WORKS, if your goal is to have the masses under the control of a few of the ruling class.

Same goal here - that energy usage will only be available for the very wealthy and the very well connected. Rand called this the “Aristocracy of Pull”.

There's nothing wrong with "cap and trade" in principle (the idea began with free-market economist, Ronald Coase), as long as the cap is not made unreasonably low. Of course, setting the cap unreasonably low is Obama's plan.

Back in the 80’s I visited the Soviet Union. The way they dealt with this sort of problem was by having multiple families living in one small apartment. No big deal, right?

Yeah. When I went to visit my aunt in the coal-mining area of Poland, where the government was in complete control of the economy, the pollution was so bad that she had to repaint her apartment every year.

On the plus side, at age 70, she was finally able to obtain her own apartment. She had worked as the rolling-pin-weilding manager of a local hotel, where she used to break up fights between coal-miners. I love my auntie!

We don’t want to impeach Obama. He would be dreadful, but the institution of socialism does not rise to the level of impeachment. If he gets impeached, regardless of the reason, the next Republican president will face impeachment at every decision he or she makes. Unfortunately for us all, if Obama gets to the WH, all of us will suffer enormously, but there are consequences to elections.

I would agree that the socialism, itself, is not an impeachable offense, but the damage and outright oppression and suppression of Constitution rights and liberties, and the accompanying damage, in various forms, would be impeachable. Regardless of how hard the socialists are trying to make it otherwise, this is still A NATION OF LAWS. And we should be willing to fight to keep it that way.
