Calls slam Obama in coal country (Wake up America or we will all be bankrupt)

The two presidential candidates stomped into the other party's territory Sunday, with Sen. Barack Obama making a run for "red" Ohio, while Sen. John McCain battled to put "blue" Pennsylvania in his column with the aid of automated calls using Mr. Obama's own words to accuse him of planning to bankrupt the coal industry.

The Republican National Committee, meanwhile, targeted voters in Pennsylvania, Ohio and other coal-producing states with "robocalls" saying that "coal jobs, which are so important to our community, are in jeopardy. ... Listen to Barack Obama's plans to bankrupt the coal industry."

The call then plays an excerpt from a January interview that Mr. Obama gave the San Francisco Chronicle in which he defends his proposal for a cap-and-trade system to limit emissions of carbon dioxide by requiring power plants and others to buy the right to emit the harmful gas.

"So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted," he said.

We have got to wake these Democrat up to the fact Obama wants to make the US come under the direction of the UN, which means Ramidan could rule.

this AM on the overnite radio on KDKA Pittsburgh, on a national trucker type broadcast, all they kept playing was the soundbites and talking about how if you cut coal, what can the country survive on ..taxes only ! the left won’t allow anymore nuclear and wind/ sun not reliable by themselves...

If we can get “the coal message out” it could make the difference! Obama has some nerve claiming he will use excessive taxation to run the coal companies out of business!! Hi Cindy, thanks for all your hard work,looks like the indys are breaking for us it will be close but we will win.

Absolutely the left through piglosi, Reed and the rest of the marxists have cut off every avenue we have to energy security. It's no coincidence that all they want is their favorite energy,solar wind,etc. which of course can't get the job done and they know it!

It's all to advance govt. control/socialism/Marxism with their party at the helm.

They must be stopped.
