Democrats are touting early leads in turnout for early voting in Florida. But a new poll that counts actual votes cast in the early balloting gives Sen. John McCain a four point lead among those who have already voted in the Sunshine State. The Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll of early voters shows McCain ahead 49-45%.Democrats outnumber Republicans by 54-30% in the party identification of early voters, according to figures released by the Democratic Party of Florida. Those numbers are not showing up in the voting this far.
More good news for McCain can be found in the the absentee vote tally. Republican registrants lead Democrats by a huge margin, 50-30%, in the over 1.2 million absentee ballots returned this far. Florida has a large active duty military population, many of whom vote by absentee ballot from stations overseas. That typically gives Republican candidates a large vote advantage in state wide elections.

Some of you trolls lurking here and debbie downers can poo poo this, but if this holds its a disaster for Obama. Period. I don’t beleive in polls at all but......this is a poll of immutable votes and that I am down with. Florida could be an early call for McCain. Looks like MASSIVE crossover of Dems for McCain
How does anyone know what the real votes are? They aren't counting the votes early.
As much as I'd like to believe these "numbers" but to call them immutable is a stretch.
It’s an old interview, but for crying out loud that quote alone should cost Hussein the election!
Simply unbelieveable. The traitor refuses to put his hand over his heart for fear of offending anyone in foreign lands by showing allegiance to America—the country he purports to be a citizen of, and to which he aspires the office of Commander-in-Chief...
“This is good news! Dems voted 54% to 30 republican in early voting!!!!”
I think this shows how “reliable” the polls have been. Dems are going big for McCain. Bradley Effect++++!
GET OUT THE VOTE!
McCain/Palin ‘08!
"The race shifted at the last minute. Our final polls (published on Wednesday) were actually right on the mark. We totally nailed this one."
The cool part is this represents hard numbers of what people *really* think; and you're correct, it points toward a massive crossover to Mac.
I remember reading elsewhere that polls now routinely encounter 80% non-response rates. This fits the spiral of silence theory that many people are now intimidated to speak freely because of their perception of being the minority opinion (the opinion of the MSM). When the MSM screams "racist" at every disagreement to their holy view, people begin to clam up.
The major story behind a McCain win will be the number of Dems not voting for Obama.
Obama on Meet the Press was asked about placing his hand over his heart during the National Anthem and he replied that he didnt want to appear to be taking sides because some people around the world find our flag to be a symbol of oppression. I caught the tail end of his rant and then the guy was””
I didn’t watch MTP yesterday, but this sounds exactly like an answer Nobama would spout.
Another factor is that pubs, being able to see what's behind the guy's (The Øne) curtain, become totally ENERGIZED, even for a candidate they were not really enthused for a few months ago. This is because we are fighting now for our Country, and what the rest of our lives and our children's lives will be like. Long past the issues of Pro-Life, balanced -budget... we now are in a do-or-die situation. We must fight this battle today so that we still have the opportunity to fight our dearest issues tomorrow.
No matter who wins tomorrow though, we have our work cut out for us, as there will always be a struggle against liberalism. If its McCain, we need to keep him inline and not succumb to pelousi/reed. I hope and prey its not The Øne, but he won't be able to put his master's plans in place overnite, and thus we will need to slow him down to fight another day to reclaim and fix the damage.
With all the early voting, I have been worried that some of the vote counting would occur—and “poll workers” would leak results VERY early.
I don’t like the early voting for a number of reasons.
Snope says that supposed statement by BO is a false claim.
snopes is no better than politico.
LLS
Well, he would have at least two big reason not to vote for B. Hussin Obama: socialism and anti-israelism of his party. Why he is not for McCain?!
??? It would be nice if people like you drank some coffee or otherwise paid some kind of attention to what is being discussed before posting:
The article you posted (in reply to the one that is the subject of discussion) is about likely voting polls, while the article in question is about those who’ve already voted.
Besdies, a quote from the article YOU posted is as follows: “But McCain is slightly ahead in Florida among early-voting respondents, 49% to 45%.”
Your own flippant scoffing at our joy winds up confirming the reason for our earnestly cautious celebration.
Snopes is wrong.
You’re absolute;y right. I humbly stand corrected.
