Template for E-mail to Your Local Officials (Police, Fire, City Council, Mayor, etc.)

Hello,

I would like to know what arrangements [insert name of county, town, or city] has made to provide security for [insert name of county, town, or city] residents if there are ad hoc gatherings of large numbers of people after the election results are known.

There have been predictions from some quarters of violence, and I would just like to ask if [insert name of county, town, or city] has made arrangements to increase its readiness to ensure the safety of all residents.

Thank you very much for any information you can provide to me.

Sincerely,

I suggest that everyone write to their local officials using the above template or something similar. Don't mention party names or get into anything overtly political. Use the template verbatim if you want. Yes, I wrote it and give you permission.

I sent it to about 20 officials in my city.

I don’t think it’s a problem... The goons will burn down their own neighborhoods and do tens if not hundreds of dollars in damage...

IMO any emergency response organization would be mad to provide any meaningful response of assurance to this email, for fear of liability. Rather like with Y2K.

For all the talk of post-election violence, I think it would be safe to predict that no matter what happens there will be very little violence and it will last a very short time. There will be no civil war or uprising, and even if Obama comes to take your guns away nobody will stop him.

A: “Four. Deciding isn’t the same thing as Doing.”

Independents and undecided voters are everywhere, even in your local government.

Aren’t you the least bit interested in the readiness of your community? Wouldn’t you like another shot at reaching someone?

It’s just a stone that I think might hit two birds. I certainly have nothing to lose, and I cannot imagine anyone would have anythig to lose either.

What started this for me was my real concern about the community in which I live. But then I thought, “Hey, this could be a double-purpose thing.”

I hope some of you out there do it like I did. But if not, thanks for considering it, at least.

By the way, if McCain wins, we have our work cut out for us — long-range plans to ensure that this never happens again.

So let them provide the type of response they want. I’m concerned with letting them know the concerns of the people. Some entities have said there will be more security already, so it’s certainly not inappropriate to ask.

They are also another audience to reach on the last day before the election. What other opportunity do you have to reach a prospective voter in “real life” than this?

Expanding our reach by any legimate means possible seems a productive use of our time.

I don’t want to argue the point all night, though. I wish more of you liked the idea, though, and said, “Hey, I’ll do it!”

But that’s okay. Again, thanks for considering it.

It’s a standard business message with a political message embedded in it — one that might just affect a voter. To me that is worth gold.

You sound like a brok voter. Why don’t you protect yourself? Instead of waiting for the government to do it?

Fer crying out loud, I’m a female city dweller not exactly ready to buy a gun. Not everyone has a tradition of arming themselves.

And I’m not broken, but you all who are seemingly lacking compassion for city-dwellers and resigned to the notion that they’re coming to take your guns away and nobody will help you sure sound broken.

I won't be sending out any such letter. It may work for you, and if so, great! But in the unlikely event that I do have to use my weapon to defend myself, I don't want the local JBT's to have something on file that they can use to help "prove" that I am some kind of a nutcase who is looking for an excuse.

In my case, the best plan is to stay low, provoke no one, mind my own business... and respond with the appropriate amount of deadly force to neutralize any overt threat.

...But that's just me. Your mileage may vary.

Either way, STAY SAFE!

I predict there will be little if any reason to send the Template because most of us on the Left/Right. Black/white just want to be left the he!! alone. It is in your face absurdity beyond bizarre verbal confrontation that drives the Obama supporters not physical violence. Go past verbal——and Earth to Obama supporters, getting carried away has real life consequences.

Again. Why are you depending on the government? Gird up your loins (where have I heard that recently?). Protect yourself. Many women are taking proactive steps to help themselves.
