Anti-Obama group has spent more than $6 million (GOPTRUST.COM)
Politico ^

Posted on 11/02/2008 5:58:27 PM PST by mathwhizz

The National Republican Trust PAC, the late entrant to the universe of independent GOP groups, appears to have emerged as the best-funded.

The group, which is airing an ad attacking Obama with Jeremiah Wright's sermons nationally, has reported spending $6,368,574.65, according to an FEC filing, which doesn't detail the expenditures.

The number includes television advertising and calls to voters, a consultant to the committee said; it's also spent some money fundraising.

The group can raise only hard money, in relatively small chunks, and its success reflects the eagerness of a segment of the Republican base harder than McCain has apparently been willing to, though a similar ad from the Pennsylvania Republican Party began airing today.

I must have contributed about $400 to the BO Wright ad. I wouldn’t have been able to live with my conscience if I hadn’t.

Spread the word to all those coal swing states, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Colorado, New Mexico, and Virginia.

Obama will bankrupt coal companies - Official calls comments 'unbelievable'...

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2122918/posts?q=1&;page=71#71

What Obama's plans are for the coal industry--- “So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can,” Obama said. “It's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.”

Did they bleep out “God damn”?

I wish they had left the part where he says, "It's in the Bible!"

To me that raises the offense to hights unheard of. Why did that hate monger have any church members? Obama should have stepped out of the race as soon as the Wright story broke, but Obama has no honor.

Why did that hate monger have any church members?

He was simply filling an existing demand. Why do tribal hatreds exist? Do a PHD thesis on it.

"It's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum"....

This is his same plan for making Gun Ownership cost prohibitive. I heard he wants incredible taxes on ammo.

BTW, the local wal*mart was being pounded for ammo today. People are stocking up.

It was on here in Texas, too during TAR. Hope it was shown nationally.

Are you serious? They are running that ad in Michigan? Politico and CNN told me that John McCain pulled out of that state.

"BTW, the local wal*mart was being pounded for ammo today. People are stocking up." I've been going to Walmart for two weeks now trying to find 00 Buckshot (for home defense). They say as soon as it hits the shelf, it's gone. I've had to stock up on bird and rabbit shot. I guess that'll still leave a mark. They did have lots of other ammo available. Interesting thing about my recent visits to gun shops and the Walmart gun section.... Lot's of white suburban guys dressed in business attire are buying guns and ammo. It aint just Murtha's "rednecks."

My dad, who has only ever shot pistols, shocked me a couple of days ago when he mentioned that he has been considering picking up a semi-auto M-14 (or whatever the civilian version is called). He’s definitely worried.
