They have tried several times to vote, but the lines were too long the last week or more. The pre-polling place venue is Veteran's Memorial Auditorium, in Columbus, Ohio. They tried again this evening, have been in line for 4 plus hours around vocal pro-Obama supporters, and still waiting. Every so often, it's announced that "a bus" is leaving. During the time inside, pizzas, courtesy of Donatos Pizza were brought in to feed the masses. I've contacted my local GOP, and they are looking into this situation. Ohio may have been close, but with all the potential voter fraud here now, I feel it's over. And what happened to actually voting on ELECTION DAY? (unless you had to be out of the state, or any other good reason). It may seem insignicant to some, but not to me....who DID pay for all that Donatos pizza?

Well .. just add this to the list of bribes: pizza, concerts, booze, cigarettes, dollar bills.
What’s next ..??

I think I’m asking a valid question here.
Are you saying this is just “free advertising”?

Oh no. Not free at all. Donato’s is definitely not free.
I put up the phone numbers so people could be tempted to call up and ask for a democrat pizza: red to the core and loaded with pork.

lines too long for a week ? stand in line 4 hours to vote ?
the OBama people probably just hired peopel to just stand there not moving, to clog up the line so people (McCain voters) get discouraged and leave

I agree. My relative finally had to leave, however they will be back early in the morning before their plane takes off (hopefully the Obama supporters will still be in bed).
However, look for this story to make headlines. I’m not the type to let this kind of thing go.
I’m still looking at at my options with my (un)employment situation:

Early voting, as well as absentee voting, COULD be eliminated by Congress.
Article I, section 4: “The times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of choosing Senators.”
Amendment XVII modified the procedure for electing Senators and allowed the direct vote
by the people. I believe this should be repealed because “original intent” was to allow the views of the people to be the purview of the House and the concerns of the States to be that of the Senate. I doubt that the Congress would ever exercise this constitional authority but, if voter fraud continues, it very well could be under consideration.

Funny you should ask about pizza. My neighbors are the election officials for my neighborhood. I asked them today that since they cannot leave ALL DAY can I bring them food and coffee as last year was terrible for them beause they got nothing. I was surprised to find out that I could just as long as the election supervisor declares that my intentions come without strings attached.

In the small town where I lived, poll workers had food there, since they put in virtually a 12 hour day. I think they brought it in themselves.
As far as the pizza deal, I think there are many strings attached, and no election supervisor that I know of, was there to even know.
BTW, Mary Jo Kilroy http://www.kilroyforcongress.com/2008/1/index.php, the Dem candidate Congress, was there at the Vet’s Memorial doors, pandering for votes. But I guess that’s ok.

Not sure if you knew that Jim Grote, founder and owner of Donato’s is one of the most prominent gay men in Central Ohio. Now whether the pizza is a political move on his part, who knows.

You and me both, my relative called to check on what the criteria was about campaigning at a voting site. Supposedly it’s 100 feet from the actual poling site, but she was right up by the front doors of the venue. It’s not like anyone’s going to call her on it....Ohio is bought and sold already.

Supposedly its 100 feet from the actual poling site, but she was right up by the front doors of the venue. Her "people" will say she was 100 feet away from the machines, and technically, they would be right. That's how 'Rats operate.
My interpretation would be 100 feet from the property. But that's why I'll never be a judge.
