CNN) With Pennsylvania's developing status as a must-win battleground for John McCain, the state GOP launched a last-minute television ad there highlighting Barack Obama's relationship with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright.
"If you think you could ever vote for Barack Obama, consider this: Obama chose as his spiritual leader this man," the ad's narrator says, before clips of Wright's controversial statements are shown.
"Does that sound like someone who should be president?" the ad continues.
The party did not release the extent of the ad buy, but defended the decision to air it.
"We feel that it is necessary that the American people remember that Obama sat in a church and listened to this man preach hate for many, many years," said a statement posted on the state party's Web site. "What does that say about his judgment? Do we want the next President of the United States to have spent years listening to hateful rhetoric without having the good judgment to walk out?"
McCain has said he does not believe Obama's relationship with Wright should be an issue in the campaign to the ire of some Republicans, who feel it raises questions about the Illinois senator's judgment.
In an interview last month, Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin seemed to suggest Wright was a fair issue to raise, but that the final decision was McCain's.
"[Obama] sat in the pews for 20 years, and heard Reverend Wright say some things that most people would find a bit concerning. But again that is John McCain's call," said Palin

That will leave a mark.
I can not imagine anyone being a Christian and voting for Barack Hussein Obama. God sees and hears all that we do.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m voting for McCain because he chose Sarah Palin as his VP candidate...but I do not give an obese rodent’s hirsuit derriere WHAT he says we should think of “G_D AMERICA” guy! There are (a lot) of times when I WISH he would just sit down and SHUT UP!)
I finally saw a wright ad run in Wisconsin, and it was put out by the RNC. I was shocked and can only imagine the reaction from people who never was this before.
Make sure to watch the video, rate it, and share with others. Even if you are preaching to the choir when you forward it, it bumps it up in YouTube ratings.
Just sent the PA GOP the link to FR.
will they get it?
we need to ensure it gets into someone’s hands who will craft the ad and execute it asap

As usual our straight-arrow, non biased MSM criticizes McCain for running a truthful ad. Breathtaking, but par for the course.
“they should run wright ads, murtha redneck/racist ads, and run the clinging to guns/religion ads!”
Bill Russell is running an ad, two ads, with Murtha talking and what he’s saying about racist and redneck spelled out and highlighted. Just showing Murtha and what he’s said.
Yes, they need to get the coal thing out here. There was an add running during Rush claiming that both candidates supported clean coal technology. Soundbite from Obama. But that has now been debunked with this recording.
Wrong... It’s called doubling UP.
Double down means you bet once again, usually in face of failure.
Doubling up, in baseball terms, is when a pitcher throws the same type of pitch in the same location.
Same strategy here. Same ad in same location. Doubling up.
Does anyone know how we can sent to the United Mine workers union site or contact anyone who is in the union.
I think that the Jews have the most to fear from an Obama presidency, but we would suffer later.
This is a so called negative ad. They are only useful late in a campaign. They will not get John McCain a single vote. What the ad is designed to do is get normal Democrat voters to not vote for president at all. It is an ad to reduce the votes for Obama.. not get votes for McCain.
This is a common strategy only effective late in a campaign.. When this story broke in the primaries it had an effect.
This time the object is to reach Democrat voters in the final hours. When Obama and the Media have little time to counter its shocking effect.
I supsect that this was in the McCain game plan going back to mid summer. The media tried to use Palin to bring the subject up weeks and weeks ago so it could be disposed of and forgotten by election day. It did not work. So all they could do was just some negative stories on Palin
McCain did not choose to talk about it then. He wanted teh last minute reminder to influence Democrat Voters. It is a smart move.
The media including CNN knows full well what McCain is doing. They just try to fool you and me and hope that we are to ignorant to figure it out.
The media hold the right wing in contempt. They know you know they lie to you all the time. But if they tell you a Republican candidate failed to do something the way they say he should, you will believe every word they say.
All they have to do is infer that McCain stupidly refused to use this issue weeks ago. And tons of people believe them.
Good to see it running, but of all the Wright ads I have seen made of late this one was not that well done.
Not as effective as the others, but it at least raises the issue.
VOTE!!!!!
Darned fine ad in PA. They’re going for the kill, not only ending Obama’s dream buy trying to reclaim about a half dozen House seats. This is sponsored by the PA GOP, headed by the *!@#$% Bob Gleason.
“Double down means you bet once again, usually in face of failure.”
Failure, uh no. Whateva. Onwards to Victory! :)
