Message from The National Republican Trust PAC From Scott Wheeler |
Dear Supporter: We have now raised over $8 million in our final emergency effort to stop Barack Obama. I can tell you that the Obama campaign is absolutely enraged by our activities and our new ad reminding voters of the close relationship between Rev. Wright and Obama. Two of the major TV networks have temporarily suspended our ad because of complaints by the Obama campaign. They have complained about the pictures used in the ad depicting Obama and Rev. Wright. Our legal team is fighting back. We expect to be back on the air! Other pro-Obama supporters are claiming Obama was not really that close to Rev. Wright and that we are exaggerating the relationship. The facts: Obama has stated that he was converted to Christianity by the Rev. Wright in his late 20s. Previous to that, as a child Obama had been raised by his stepfather as a Muslim. Obama has described the Rev. Wright as a mentor, friend and advisor. His description, not ours. Obama stated he could not reject Rev. Wright any more than he could reject the Black Church. Again, his words, not ours. All of Obama's attacks indicates this ad is having a powerful effect. We are planning a final, major effort Monday night on television in key swing states and on Tuesday morning. Anything you can contribute today will help our important cause. Time is absolutely critical. Help us defeat Obama Go Here Now. Thank you. Scott Wheeler Executive Director P.S. Don't believe the polls. The AP recently asked poll respondents if they really were undecided and might still switch their vote. One in 7 nearly 15% said they still really hadn't decided. This means the election can still be won by McCain. Obama can be defeated. You can help us make that happen by Going Here Now or call our donor hotline at 1-866-957-1467. |

We disagree on that one. I fear the so-called “righteous wind” at Obama’s back smells like cow flatulence.

3 weeks ago it looked like we were sliding into 1929 redux.
And given time, the media would have nitpicked this ad to death, by running it in the last few days, it is hard to counter it with an add of their own, or with media spin.

Yeah and if you bring it up it`s ``dishonorable campaigning``, it`s `gutter` politics.

I don’t think this ad would have worked 3 weeks ago. Too much time for the liberal talking heads and Obama camp to to demand its removal and call McCain a “low roader”.
With it running the final weekend, it gets lost amidst the tingle up their legs, but not on the minds of voters.
This will help McCain a lot in the swing states that will not seen in the cooked polls.

This ad is causing a big stir. The folks at Huffington Post are getting a little nervous. The media is in an uproar. I certainly hope so- my wife & I-- both out of work, and squeezing every dime- gave them $25 via the web, so it would be in their hands immediately.
Now is the time, folks-- I'm not telling anyone to send any particular group money, just sayin' the clock is running out-- if you don't do some kind of electronic transfer, it won't matter.

Yeah, and Obama doesn’t want it told that Bill Ayers wanted to kill 25 million Americans. How dare we try to stop this communist potential dictator?

I agree with maelstorm, but let me include all the republicans and conservatives including Bush when you call them idiots! They sit by and allow the rotten fish in the Pelosi swamp to play with matches. Criminal rat members of congress have caused this financial crisis all the while they know all they have to do is point the finger. This I believe is a concerted effort along with the radical socialist, marxists and communists to bring this country to it’s knees and build it back up under a socialists regime. Mark my words, If Obama gets in we will be faced with a forced DEPRESSION not RECESSION MAKING ALL SUBSERVIANT TO THE GOVERNMENT AND ALL AMERICANS EQUAL IN THIER EYES.

Thank God for Dick Morris! The Media Matters article is wrong - I’m almost positive I saw him plugging goptrust.com on evening FOX shows at least 3 times. When you make a promise to go with public campaign finance and then go back on you word, I think all is fair...not to mention that he is only one man, how many networks does DUH ONE have in his pocket?
To: wiseprince
It’s up in VA at least. Live in Northern VA and saw it right before SNL. Thankfully, more of the ads on TV and radio now are for McCain than Obama. For a few weeks, it was Obama on every channel, every commercial break...
