With the nomination of the "anointed" one, it was clear to Democrats that the economy would be a better center piece for the upcoming campaign than Iraq. Their candidate had no real national security qualifications and the surge was working. Enter Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. Always, a hound for publicity, Sen. Schumer made public a letter he wrote to the Office of Thrift Supervision in June questioning the solvency of the California based IndyMac Bank.

Interesting, since they're both owned by Rupert Murdoch.
We called them traitors but that isn’t even the least of their crimes. Democrats squandered 3 trillion dollars in retiree money to attain political power. The enormity of their crime hides it.
Obamachev, Reid, Pelosi, Schumer, et al, are capable of anything. We have to face it..the second civil war has already started.
Yes, Schumer fits the profile. He the Dems choice for Chair of their Senate (Re)election Committee. Just making his letter public should be grounds for jail time. Even healthy banks can’t endure a ‘run’ these days, if ever they could. Doubtless Schumer had a lot of help, too, and encouragement from his ilk.
My wife has been saying since Day 1 the “economic crisis” was staged to be B. Hussein’s “October Surprise.”
I said 6 months ago that the dems needed the economy in the tank by the election “Mark my words”. Best gird our loins.
Furthermore it has been massaged and magnified by the MEDIA, intentionally. Can't speak for all area's but in my three, one on the east coast, one on the west, and one in FL, by all casual observation, highway traffic, commercial shipping (Hampton Roads), retail commerce at the mall, customer calls, and even residential starts (in my eastern locality), certainly don't seem as depressed as the Media Matrix would claim.
Furthermore two local banks have called repeatedly with loan offers (we do have good credit).
And I've seen no food lines.
But there is no conspiracy.
Obama: "We have a plan."
I agree 100%. The onlyway any of this is going to be investigated is if McCain is elected. This is probably the biggest rip off American tax payers have ever had happen to them and it can’t go unpunished like will happen if Obummer is elected that can NOT happen. I want McCain to name names and put some in jail!
What is “keelhauled”? If it means throwing Schumer in front of one of our beutiful and powerfull aircraft carriers and then seeing if he can make it up behind it, then I am all for this. It would be justice for the treason he has committed.
It all occurred as a cover for the Dem congress critters who could not risk a new president digging into records.
“...I really hate living in NY....”
Leave, like I did. No sirens screaming all night, no problems parking, fresh air, stars visible at night, and when the dog wants to relieve her bladder I just open the back door, instead of taking the elevator ten floors down.
N.Y.C. is addictive, but once you have the Manhattan monkey off your back, life suddenly seems, well, wonderful.
sorry, but I’m one of those agnostic conservatives — and an atheist when I’m driving home from the track after putting all my dough on slow horses.
No doubt God will settle scores with this world’s offenders, but in the meantime I’d prefer to see accounts settled in this existence.
Something about the crisis smelled from day one. Sure, the Fannie/Freddie fiasco had been building for a while but why should suddenly one day the entire mess blow up causing everyone to freak for two weeks. No, were not back to normal and wont be for a long time but news of the crisis that was supposed to be worse than the Great Depression is now soooo last week. Yes, something is very fishy.
I think your right. Notice how its taking so long to get the CEOs of Fannie & Freddie onto Capitol Hill. Waxman finally conceded “Ok we will hold a hearing - after the election.” And you can bet when the hearing does take place, the Dems will be asking a lot of softball questions. Thanks Henry - we knew we could count on you /SARC
I have no doubt that the Liberals are behind it. We know the programs the Democrats implemented are the cause of the whole mortgage thing....but did they use that for their own purposes? I think so.
wasnt there some talk at one point to “investigate” schmucky schumer on his comments, etc. that spurred all this on?
if anyone questions wether it was the fault of the republicans or democrats all you have to do is point out that if it were the republicans there would be a team of special prosecuters combing through the halls of congress.
its too bad mccain pulled that whole stunt with the campaign suspension etc.
he should have stood up pointing his finger at schumer, frank, obama, dodd, etc. and said “see, i told you so”
then he should have filibustered the bailout and voted against it.
he would be up by 10 points right now.
I agree with you on that........McCain lost a great opportunity to lead America through the crisis.
I agree that McCain shoulda, coulda, woulda....stood firm against the Bailout, if he had an inkling of the laws of the Free Market...McCain is certainly preferrable to BO the Marxist and Palin is 10x’s better than any of the above. But IMHO McCain as President will never investigate his buddies in the TeddyK Senate anymoreso than GWB investigated the BJC Crimes Syndicate.
