With the nomination of the "anointed" one, it was clear to Democrats that the economy would be a better center piece for the upcoming campaign than Iraq. Their candidate had no real national security qualifications and the surge was working. Enter Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. Always, a hound for publicity, Sen. Schumer made public a letter he wrote to the Office of Thrift Supervision in June questioning the solvency of the California based IndyMac Bank.

It is possible Schumer’s remarks started this massive failure. But then again, he is a tax and spend democrat, so he has no credibility
In any just and civilized country Schumer would have been keelhauled beneath the hull of an aircraft carrier under way.
Been saying for 2 months that “Schumer lit the fuse” - to burn it all down under Bushs’ watch - nothing is beneath or beyond them.
Nothing would suprise me. I really hate living in NY.
They can call me racist I don’t care, Patterson is a moron.
Rush and others have speculated on this scenario. Quite frankly I think there is some truth to this and I hope, after McCain wins, the truth is revealed and some dems get put where they belong, in prison.
Dems will betray a war. Tanking the economy is not beyond them either.
Something about the “crisis” smelled from day one. Sure, the Fannie/Freddie fiasco had been building for a while but why should suddenly one day the entire mess blow up causing everyone to freak for two weeks. No, we’re not back to normal and won’t be for a long time but news of the crisis that was supposed to be worse than the Great Depression is now soooo last week. Yes, something is very fishy.
Been saying for 2 months that Schumer lit the fuse - to burn it all down under Bushs watch - nothing is beneath or beyond them.”
My suspicions also. I wouldn’t let Schumer walk my dogs.
Yes Schumer caused the panic.. no doubt...
McCain isn’t like Obama. He would forgive them. Obama, on the other hand, will outlaw the republican party, most likely branding it as a terrorist organization. You have to remember, McCain is a US war veteran, and Obama is a fascist.
You were also right for 2 months. It all started with that POS Chuck Schumer.
It was on purpose.
The libs have been working on this for the last two years...they have said the economy was bad long before is was. Add some global warming while refusing to drill, sprinkle with some MSM and you get a power grab.
I keep thinking of Shumer and his deliberate triggering of the run on IndyMac.
1) the NY Post and WSJ are growing impressive sets of cojones. They are getting vocal, really vocal in the last few weeks over Obama.
2) there needs to be an independent investigation of Fannie/Freddie, Bwaney Fwank, Dodd and Wall Street. Probably a few others too. And a prosecutor. Some folks NEED to go to jail.
McCain isnt like Obama
Yes, to state the obvious but even though MCCain was my 4th choice in the primaries, he is head and shoulders better than Hussein. Ms. Sarah will cold cock him if he gets out of line.
exactly
>>>Yes Schumer caused the panic.. no doubt...<<<
Well you gotta give a bit of credit to Harry Reid for helping. He claimed that a “big insurance company whose name you would recognize” was about to go insolvent.
The market dropped like a stone after that remark.
Then read this:

If anyone can read this and think this mess wasn’t purposfully orchestrated, then you don’t think OJ’s
glove was a near fit!!
Anyone who believes that this “financial crisis” was not part of Kampfgruppe Obama’s campaign tactics has to be a total idiot. IMHO.
I also surmised on this possibility, and wrote about it. After all, the Dems had nothing to lose.
They could cause the crisis...blame it on Bush and the last 8 years of his Administration. Pelosi and Reed would beat that drum. The ones involved would get their hands smacked, and some bad press for a while, little else. It was all worth it to put worry in the minds of Americans and convince them that the GOP had hood-winked them. Causing the people fear and nightmares about their savings didn't matter.
Even if Dems totally caused or just shared some blame for Fannie and Freddie, they were willing to be scapegoats if it meant Obama would get elected. All Obama had to do was to keep as quiet as possible, stay as far away as possible, and let McCain make all the noise and be most public about his position. Whatever he said, they would criticize him; even fault him and make fun of him suspending his campaign to try and resolve things. While Obama waited "until he was needed," and until the rough seas were calmed and he could sail on through with nary a comment that would cause his supporters to question his decision. McCain would lose supporters in the process. He ended up between the rock and hard place.
The Dems had No problem with their plan, and knew that afterward for those Democrats who might be implicated for their role in bringing about the economic crisis, things would be the clear for them once Obama was in the WH. Then and all would be forgotten and forgiven.
Yep...just back to business as ususual in the Good Old Boys Club. Deals still being made in the smokey back rooms. Change? Yea, sure! The only change was what change was lost in Americans' pockets. That's how much the Dems really care about the people. All this misery, just to get their Poster Child elevated to the highest seat in the land.
