Based upon my three hours seated at the junction of Hwy.51 and Hwy.47 in Woodruff WI. I'd say that our candidate John McCain is doing well in the pols around here! In my wheelchair, I had only one motorist call me a racist and pick a fight. But, some nice guy did buy me a much needed hot cappichino to keep my hands and my heart warm.
Two people flipped me off but, the majority either honked, gave me the thumbs up sign or, didn't understand the meaning of my sign which, said
"McCain Not Hussein"
I suggest that some of us stop at a busy corner and plant your signs.
Be original folks or, should you lack a good slogan, dream up one or, use one from reading posts from FR.
It was quite obvious that voters out here feel intimidated by admitting that they are voting for McCain! It's to such a remarkable point that seeing me in their neighborhood holding up a sign breaks the tension. Several people remarked about feeling oppressed almost cowed into supporting Hussein. It's setting them all FRee!
If any other North Central Wisconsin FReepers or, lurkers want to join me, I'll start at Sunday noon til 3PM CST.
That’s nice and I applaud the efforts, but every election this happens and then Milwaukee comes in with their fraud vote.
‘Appreciate you being on the front lines and supporting John & Sarah! I’ve stood on many a cornerin the past for Bush and know that you get your share of thumbs and middle fingers. Still, it’s a lot of fun, and you see how much support there IS for your candidate. It instills a sense of pride and confidence.
Except this time around the AG of Wisconsin, J.B. VanHollen, is sending 50 deputies and agents to watch the polling places in Milwaukee.
Not sure if it will make a huge difference, but it should make some.
We have some property in Jackson Co.(am there now) and I see approximately 4-5x as many McCain signs as Obama —remarkable for a usually very democratic area. I believe McCain will win — I actually think it will be a big margin but will be conservative on that (slight pun).
Is Jackson Cty. down south? Maybe Portage area?
Thanks for your efforts. I’m in central Wisconsin and it’s mostly O. supporters here. I went into a local clothing store today and she told me to vote for Obama. I left without buying anything. Small business operators need to understand that if O is elected, I won’t have money left to spend at their shops.
I heard some political strategists say that Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota all move together as a block. If Iowa goes, the other two states follow and vice versa. Given that Hussein and Palin are in Iowa campaign, it tells me that the Hussein is in trouble in these states.
While these states did go democratic in 2000 and 2004, the dem party is not unified this year given the PUMA’s and moderate/conservative dems uncertainties with Hussein. I have a sneaking suspicion that Mac will do well in these states and will carry them on Tuesday.
Once they get in the voting booth, they are free. I am finding a similar kind of intimidation here in NoVA. I have been handing out sample Rep ballots at an early voting location. Some people in line are nervous about taking the Rep ballot, but once one person does it, a number of others ask for it as well. It is more politically correct to take the Obama sample ballot or none at all. A number of the Obama sample ballot takers aproached me later and said they took the ballot to see who not to vote for.
This is a strange election here in NoVA. You don't see that many bumper stickers for either candidate. People are worried about having their car vandalized. And they don't want their neighbor to know how they are voting. There are a lot of secret McCain voters who give you a wink and a nod or a thumbs up after leaving the polling place. If we can limit or nullify the Obama advantage in NoVA, McCain will win the state.
We are in Door County, for the weekend. The yard signs are about 50-50.
I’ve had great reaction from my two signs:
“Government Spreading your Wealth Around is NOT the American Way”
and
“Silly Senator, Taxes are Used to Run our Country, not redistribute our Wealth”
God bless you for your bravery and boldness. One person can make a difference, as Joe the Plumber knows all too well.
I just called the cops on an Obamaite for putting flyers in mail boxes
You are awesome. Thanks for getting out there and working for McCain/Palin!!
Not for the Haughty
Cheers!
Jackson Co is west central, just south of Eau Claire-—very rural
Boy—is that ever overdue!!!

As a life-long bookkeeper, it is scary to me how many small business owners don’t get who will be the biggest losers if Nobama gets elected.
Take a page out of the guy in Las Vegas who has had a downturn in his business. He and his CPA had a sit-down, and they determined that 6 of this guy’s 30 employees have to be laid off. He was in turmoil about whom would be targeted until he walked his parking lot, and saw——wait for it-— 6 Obama stickers on the bumpers of 6 of his employee’s cars!!! (there is a God)
Guess who is getting laid off? This guy figures if you are not part of the solution, then you MUST be part of the problem!!!
Here in Waukesha, in my neighborhood, there were a lot more Kerry signs than I see nObama signs.
I am cautiously optimistic. I still firmly believe that the surrounding counties of Milwaukee can cancel out the People’s Republic of Milwaukee. I am more concerned about the rest of the state canceling out Dane County.
