Barack Obama's aunt, revealed this week to be dwelling in a Boston slum, is living in the United States illegally, refusing to leave the U.S. for her Kenyan homeland when a judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, the Associated Press is reporting.
A person familiar with the case told AP that 56-year-old Zeituni Onyango was told to leave America by a U.S. immigration judge in 2004.
Two separate sources, one of them a federal law enforcement official, disclosed and confirmed information about the deportation case.
Speaking to a reporter with the London Times, outside her home, Zeituni Onyango, 56, confirmed she was indeed the "Auntie Zeituni" so affectionately described in Obama's best-selling memoir, "Dreams From My Father."
In the memoir, Obama wrote: "If Jane or Zeituni ever felt ill, if their companies ever closed or laid them off, there was no government safety net. There was only family, next of kin, people burdened by similar hardship. Now I was family, I reminded myself. Now I had responsibilities."
Onyango declined to answer most other questions about her relationship with the presidential contender until after the Nov. 4 election.
"I can't talk about it, I just pray for him, that's all," she told the Times, adding: "After the 4th, I can talk to anyone."
Obama campaign spokesman Reid Cherlin confirmed to the Boston Herald yesterday that Onyango, who lives on Flaherty Way in South Boston, is Obama's aunt on his father's side.
The AP could not reach Onyango immediately for comment. It was unclear why her request for asylum was rejected in 2004.
It was not immediately clear how Onyango might have qualified for public housing with a standing deportation order.

What we have here is the perfect illustration of who Obama is, and what Obama's character is all about. He will use people, for any purpose, in any way, to get what he wants. Lying is just a small part of his jive talking, charismatic demagogue, minsterel man schtik.
She’ll be registered by the next election. As will MILLIONS of other illegals. Dem Congress and President Obama = Amnesty galore, especially in battleground states. And the new immigrant flood gates will be thrown open. Many jurisdictions will blithely declare that “residents” can vote, knowing Obama’s DOJ won’t come after them.
Fear of voter retribution? No way. With all those new voters they won’t have to care what we think, ever again.
It’s going to be a looooooong time before the GOP sees power again, if ever.

A quick check of my bookmarked sites shows that the devoted media is again ignoring this revalation. Fox and Drudge had it.
While illegal immigration is a huge problem, I don’t think an elderly, poor woman who otherwise appears law abiding should be made the poster child for deportation.
The media would spin this as Conservatives being cold and heartless to a little old lady, right before the election.
The real, winning issue is Obama’s hypocrisy: a man who acts morally superior, and demands “unselfishness” in the form of taxation from the public, but is cheap, cold and callous in his personal life.
He never tried to locate or help this woman despite mentioning in his book that she lived in Boston.
How do these (Illegals) get here?

This woman is in her late fifties? I think that what I read in the NY Post about her. If she’s in her fifties and Obamas in his mid-forties, what the heck is going on here? You can’t be the same age as your aunt.
I agree. Obama’s talk about “I’m my brothers keeper” is just another example of Obama’s words without any Obama actions!
And in the first article about her, didn’t she claim that she has travelled back and forth from here to Kenya?
Someone needs to tell Obama charity begins at home. His brother lives in a hut on a dollar a month. His aunt lives illegally in a public housing project slum. If he doens’t take care of his own family, why would anyone think he will “take care” of theirs.
