I spoke out about all the Obama rhetoric spouted by my co-workers, now I'm out of a job.
Texas would be a likely place for the secessionist movement to begin.
I asked an Obama supporter if he would oppose a peaceful secessionist movement. He said yes, he would oppose secessionist movements.
Without the workers to support the socialism, his part of America would fail, because his party has a disproportionate share of non-producers.
The blue enclaves (large cities) are crime ridden, welfare entitlement zones, with out of control schools, liberal judges and gun control enforced against the relatively few law abiding citizens who work there.
Did I forget to mention they are also filled with thankless people who vote for anyone who blames Christians, heterosexuals, and whites for their troubles?
Imagine, no liberals, and no Obamites too, it would almost be like dying and going to heaven.
You hit the nail right on the head. You could EASILY win a wrongful termination lawsuit, and a harassment lawsuit except that you resigned. All you had to do was document the harassment, and the differences in treatment, file it as a formal complaint with the HR office and put on the bottom of the letter that it is being copied to the EEOC. Then send them a copy of the letter too.
Also, you MUST note in your letter that you expect a retaliation campaign against you by the company for standing up for your rights and you are seeing signs that they are trying to artificially build a fake case of non-performance against you even though you have had numerous great reviews in the past.
That will keep them WAY away from you for a long time. If the letter is well written that you send to their HR department you might also ask for a conference with the company’s labor attorney and an EEOC representative because of the harassment and the stress and pressure you are feeling at work.
I know it is difficult to be working in a liberal environment. I've been doing it 5 days a week for the past 2 years. I know for a fact we had one woman quit about two weeks ago, she was a conservative. A few days before she quit we had chatted about her perception of the “hostile” conditions.
Now, I told her I don't discuss politics with most folks at work, but they all know I went to the McCain Rally and that I am working the Polls on Tuesday as an Observer. I had to ask for the day off. So to say they are fully naive regarding my positions is not true. They know I have a strong civic responsibility streak and I put the responsibility to help uphold the Republic above all else.
One employee tried to discuss the election with me at one of our special events...I sidestepped her. It was the wrong place and wrong time to try to do this in front of a shop full of customers. If she wanted to ‘mix it up’ with me...it would have to be on nonwork time.
The side-note to a lot of this stuff is I believe many folks are talking 0bama, but will vote McCain. There is a palatable fear among conservatives/republicans in general regarding this liberal fascism.

Funny, dems advocate 1st Amendment rights only when they are being “persecuted”, but have no problem suppressing 1st Amendment rights when someone stands against them.

I know it sounds like I’m some kind of workplace hero fighting political correctness and multi-cultural treachery or whatever, and yes in that situation it’s true, I was, but trust me there is an abundance of examples where I’ve been beaten down, and have acted cowardly and quite the loser—far more often than not.
Had you stayed on and had your employer terminated you, they have every right to so with even no reason whatsoever. Ohio is an "Employment at Will" state.
Your employer is history and you are no longer in an ugly environment. Forget about them and move on, there's a heck of a lot better places to work than that.......
So, my advice to all of you out there....well, I'm not sure...speak out, if you have an understanding company who values your opinion...and if you don't....keep your mouth shut, like I probably should have.Sage advice surely. I'm an academic. At the school where I took my PhD there was a conservative underground of disaffected graduate students like myself. But not where I am now.
People are afraid to put McCain/Palin bumper stickers or yard signs because we are living in fear of retaliation to our vehicles or personal property!
The OBAMA supporters have adapted of suppressing all opposing discourse!
If all else fails, Obama’s gonna give you a tax cut and free healthcare!
If he had complained about McCain buttons he would now be the supervisor.

Originally, in the 60s/70s, community organizers WERE labor organizers. The first several cohorts of community organizers were trained by labor organizers who identified likely prospects from various field operations. The labor organizer who recruited/trained me spoke of classes conducted at the Syracuse campus of the NY university system.
Some unions, from what I have been told, will not support a member if they, for some reason or in some instance, are not on board the union’s overarching agenda.
Just as an aside, always, always keep copies of your annual reviews oe anything else you sign.
It makes a good argument, when a person has had "Outstanding", etc. reviews for years, then all of a sudden is "No Good".
The only political discussions I ever had at work usually ended when I said, "WHAT ELSE did the Boston Globe tell you to think this morning?". I did not bother arguing details with them. There was no point. The worst time for me was the Clinton Coronation.
I went to work for a huge, politically correct corporation about 7 1/2 years ago (left them voluntarily three months ago for a far better position/salary).
An old buddy had convinced me to go to work for him there. Within the first few days on that job, about a dozen of us were sitting around a large, round table in the cafeteria having lunch. One of ‘em...big guy, seemed smart, very talkative...launches into a major liberal diatribe out of the blue. I mean he just went at it.....totally unopposed; it was obvious he was used to lording it over.
Well my manager/buddy was sitting next to me and is VERY aware of my political beliefs..........and knowledge. I sat there taking it for a few....then I launched.
No, I didn’t shout or raise my voice or wave my arms about; I merely.......challenged him. On every point. I countered. Absolutely eviscerated the guy in front of everyone. I looked directly into his eyes the entire time. Spoke quietly, but forcefully. He looked gut-shot.
Neither he nor anyone else ever dared bring up politics again around me. Ever.
My buddy/manager thought the whole thing was hysterical; he knew full well what I’d do, and sure enough......I did it.
The loudmouth and I actually wound up getting along quite well afterward. He just stayed VERY clear of politics...... :)
And there in lies a question I've been wondering for a few weeks. Can the Obama campaign be held to account for voter intimidation? Can this ladies job be held to that account?
