Hawaii DOH Talks About Sen. Obama's Birth Certificate
KGMB ^ | 2008-10-31 | KGMB9 News

The Department of Health has released a statement about Senator Barack Obama's official birth certificate.

There have been talk among some chat rooms that Senator Obama was not born in Hawaii, or even America for that matter, and therefore is ineligible to run for the office of President.

There have been various requests for copies of his Hawaii birth certificate to the Department of Health, all which have to be turned down.

"State law (Hawai'i Revised Statutes §338-18) prohibits the release of a certified birth certificate to persons who do not have a tangible interest in the vital record," said DOH Director Chiyome Fukino.

"Therefore, I as Director of Health for the State of Hawai'i, along with the Registrar of Vital Statistics who has statutory authority to oversee and maintain these type of vital records, have personally seen and verified that the Hawai'i State Department of Health has Sen. Obama's original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures."

Fukino adds that no state leaders, including Governor Lingle, has asked the certificate be handled in any way different from any one else's vital records in state possession.

Strict interpretation may mean that it would only reach Constitutional Status if Obama were to win next Tuesday, so we will never find out.

A person born in a foreign country who has been legally adopted in the State of Hawaii. “ It looks like you can get a Hawaiian birth certificate if you were born in a foreign country but adopted in the state of Hawaii.

Interesting. This is more important, and more straightforward, than any theory about loss of citizenship due to being adopted by a foreign national.

If BHO was born in Kenya, then this could indeed apply, and the adoption would show on the BC. It would also show if he was born in Hawaii, and then adopted with a name change.

Don’t get me wrong. I totally agree with you that this is something that should be done by anyone running for President. I was only stating that the Supreme Court might choose not to get involved until the people have spoken (they are not usually a group of people to rush into things). ;-)

It’s a fascinating scenario. And what better way to stall legitimate inquiry into his BC than by planting and encouraging rumors that he was born in Kenya...a rumor guaranteed to lead its investigator(s) nowhere as well as to cultivate great skepticism toward those attempting more fruitful research on the BC. A clever strategy, if true.

This would also make statements by family members that they had witnessed the birth of Hussein in Kenya to be purposeful misdirection.

Why didn’t the director come out and just put it to bed? Yes we have the birth certificate and Obama is a natural born citizen...

Because under the rules, he can't reveal what is on the birth certificate to someone with a vested interest in the information, that basically means to an ancestor, descendant or in some cases a business partner or spouse, current or ex. Or the person themselves of course.

Which brings us back to the question of why BHO hasn't produced it instead of spending bea coup bucks fighting to not do so.

I wonder if Obama was born out of the states, and Mommy neglected to change his status from that of an alien...

Remember she was underage to claim him as an American...

And she didnt like America..

And he could just come back and forth with her...

He may have even been listed on her passport...

Usually families had just one passport in those days...

With Dad, Mom and the kiddies on the one...

His citizenship might not have been questioned in order for him to be on her passport...

He may have got one of his own in his own name later...

just using an old cancelled one of hers..with his name added..

I dont think his vitals needed to be on her passport..

But a passport gave him a certain presumed status, if he wanted to take advantage of it..

Or he became an Indonesian citizen while he was there for those years, and Mommy never changed it back for him..

And he found out too late to do anything about it..

WHOOPS...

As a legislator and a US Senator, he never had to prove he was an American citizen...

And people probably took it for granted he was...

Even for college...

Some kind of Hawaii BC...etc...

He may have even been listed on her passport...

I made that same suggestion in an earlier post, and was mocked for it. Fact is, my youngest Daughter, born overseas, was required to be on her Mother's passport.

True.

I've always thought the 'Kenyan father' thing was just to make him seem more 'exotic', a 'true African'.

Not cool that your REAL father is a Communist, authored a hard-core pornographic novel, was old enough to be your mother's father, and married to another woman at the time of your birth....

. I've always believed he was born in Hawaii.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

If that were the case the director would have plainly stated, “Barak Obama was born in Hawaii”, and most of this controversy would immediately go away.

The director didn't say that though.

You see, on my American passport my country of birth, New Zealand, is noted...

I have had several passports...

And each time I got a new one I just sent my old passport in as proof

No BC, DL etc...

If Obama used his Mom’s old American passport, his “Hawaii BC” etc..

Who would look further for possible fraud ???

When were stationed overseas in the early 1970s

My son had to have his own passport...

He was 6 months old when we applied for it...

Births that have not occurred in Hawaii can be registered in Hawaii with something called a “Certification of Live Birth”.

On the other hand, if he only had a certification but was adopted by his Indonesian stepfather while a small child, then the certification would be sealed and a birth certificate would be issued with his adopted parents’ names on it.

Either way, the situation smells fishy.

Because, quite simply, if he was born in Hawaii and was a natural born citizen there would be NO REASON TO HOLD BACK ON PUBLICLY EXHIBITING HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE, period.

Of course, that’s not an original, either.

Not that I doubt it, but just pointing out that the vault copy of O’s should have more than that.

One could argue that if Americans are stupid enough to elect a man who refuses to show his vault copy, then why should the Constitution stand in the way of democracy? The answer is found, of course, in Federalist X.

A MEANINGLESS STATEMENT vis a vis Obama's eligibility to be President.

Hawaii will issue a Birth Certificate to Foreign Nationals as they did to Obama's half sister who was born in Indonesia.

Actually the image at that link is a certificate of live birth, essentially the 1980 version of Cerfication of Live Birth that Obama has released. Neither is a Birth Certificate. But only an extract. The McCain 1980 one was probably produced by looking at either the actual paper, possibly handwritten, BC, or at a Microfilm or Microfiche of it. Obama’s was, if not a forgery, produced by a computer looking at the information in a data base, not at the original certificate.
