I've done my part. Purchased a 9mm Ruger P95 in September and a WASR-10 in October. I know the WASR isn't exactly the same as a Russian AK, but it's sturdy, the sights aren't canted and for under $500 you can't beat the price. (Is anybody else having a hard time finding 7.62x39 ammo?)

I'm going to a gun show on Saturday 11/1 to stock up on ammo - heck, I might even buy another gun. I hope to take the rifle to the range this week while I am off from work.

I figure if the SHTF, I should be sufficiently armed with one of my shotguns (00 buck and #4 birdshot), the pistol and my parka pockets full of shells and spare clips. I hope and pray that I am wrong, but it would be irresponsible if I did not prepare for the worst.

Keep your powder dry.

I bought the Ruger P95 about 2 weeks ago and love it. FOr the price, I don’t think it can be beat.

Am looking to get a Kimber .45 in the near future (and possibly an AR-15 if Obama is actually elected)

Today I went to the store where got my AK to buy a few magazines and some ammo. They were cleaned out of magazines and didn’t have any 7.62x39 ammo left either. Said a guy had just bought 40,000 rounds of it. They’re supposed to be getting more on Monday though. I did manage to pick up a few boxes at Sportsman’s Warehouse and probably should pick up a few more boxes there in case the ammo doesn’t come through at the other place on Monday.
