Barack Obama gave John McCain another pre-Election Day gift this morning in remarks made to a Sarasota, Florida audience. After telling Joe the Plumber in Ohio that he wants government to “spread the wealth,” Obama told Floridians that opposition to such policies amounted to “selfishness”:
“The point is, though, that — and it’s not just charity, it’s not just that I want to help the middle class and working people who are trying to get in the middle class — it’s that when we actually make sure that everybody’s got a shot – when young people can all go to college, when everybody’s got decent health care, when everybody’s got a little more money at the end of the month – then guess what? Everybody starts spending that money, they decide maybe I can afford a new car, maybe I can afford a computer for my child. They can buy the products and services that businesses are selling and everybody is better off. All boats rise. That’s what happened in the 1990s, that’s what we need to restore. And that’s what I’m gonna do as president of the United States of America.
“John McCain and Sarah Palin they call this socialistic,” Obama continued. “You know I don’t know when, when they decided they wanted to make a virtue out of selfishness.”

Bondage means being forced by gun point/jail to have income extracted for the purpose of contributing to a wasteful bureaucracy and meeting the basic needs of SELFISH and irresponsible individuals.
Good government means taxing “the people” strictly for the purposes of which is enumerated in the Constitution (Sorry, the founders idea of the general welfare clause is vastly different from today's misguided interpretation).
Obama is promoting a repressive State and tyranny, now that is what I call selfish.
I am a small business owner. Every time I pay myself $10,000, I have to pay the state and the feds almost $8,000. According to Obama, my reluctance to pay even more is selfish. However, also according to Obama, the desire of his supporters, many of whom pay the state and the feds little or nothing, that I pay more so they can get more is not selfish. Something does not compute here
The socialist argument fails to realize that the inability of some to grab the “brass ring” is a MOTIVATION issue, not a money issue. Giving them more money for nothing exacerbates the problem.
When Democrats realized they were losing the civil rights battle, they created welfare which in the end produces the same result - oppressed peoples, The One calls them.
