will get there.. give fr an update
I don’t get it—why is Iowa considered a Dem stronghold?
ethonal.
McCain's little smile that he has been carrying around for a couple of weeks tells me something else is at work here...
“McCain’s little smile that he has been carrying around for a couple of weeks tells me something else is at work here...”
He does seem rather chipper doesn’t he?

I hope like PA...
If McCain is even close in IA, I like his chances in PA. Lots of bitter clingers in both states.
I live just across the river in Ill. This is such a rural area that cable TV is less common than in more suburban areas. PBS covers Iowa and rural Ill. very well. I don't have to tell you what an effective leftist propaganda machine they are. Even when programs are not in themselves bias PBS gets in their digs. A couple of months ago there was a wonderful program about trying to find the history of two black soldiers in a Union Army photograph. After it was over a commentator thanked a veterans group for their help. Then proceeded to state as fact that one veterans group even tried to stop wars and prevent them. However rich republicans hired swift boat vets to lie about John Kerry's military record and ruin this fine respectable man's chances of becoming president. Wish I had taped it. Even some of my leftist friends thought it was way out of bounds.
This is shocking! Shock me some more!!
Big Farming, hence subsidies
Iowa is Obamaland. Get to VA, Sarah.
>>I dont get itwhy is Iowa considered a Dem stronghold?<<
Polk County - it’s been Dem controlled and is SO corrupt.
Plus - Iowa City, Ames, Cedar Rapids, etc. - college towns.....
Rural Iowa is Republican but the urban areas, such as they are, outnumber the rural in voter numbers.
Ethanol didn’t help, but most here tout
“McCain is too much like Bush, Obama is change”.
YES, I hear this crap from almost EVERYONE work with! This is an ACCURATE quote, I kid you not.
Yeah, then you have KEN BURNS on PBS - what a jerk. SO LEFT it shows in his PBS productions. He slants history.........
Perhaps you can interest them in the real story.
I may not have learned much in college, but I took a course from a very good prof on advertising, propaganda, and such. Don't remember the name of it. Helped make me the conservative I am. PBS uses both blatant and subtle influence. I despise the add where they say “Where we were” (picture of Reagan and MacArthur in background) “Where we are” (current people) and “Where we're going” (fresh young pre-gin blossom Kennedy face). I pointed this out to my wife and she just says it's just a coincidence.
