Obama Wants 'Second Bill of Rights' That Guarantees Government Welfare
prnewswire ^ | 10-31-08 | Associated Television News

"It is clear that Barack Obama will not seek to 'preserve, protect and defend the Constitution,'" said ATI-News president Brad O'Leary. "Rather, he will change the Constitution to suit his ideology -- an ideology that is far different from the one held by our Founding Fathers."

O'Leary points out that a second Bill of Rights, one that gives welfare guarantees from the state, is something that Obama's long-time and current Constitutional advisor, Cass Sunstein, has advocated. In his book, The Second Bill of Rights: FDR's Unfinished Revolution and Why We Need it Now More Than Ever, Sunstein writes that "all legal rights are, or aspire to be, welfare rights." Sunstein also believes that "if the nation becomes committed to certain rights, they may migrate into the Constitution itself."

"The Constitution of our Founding Fathers guarantees God-given rights, but Obama's new Constitution would create state guarantees to welfare," said O'Leary. "In Obama's new society, citizens would no longer look to God and the Constitution for their freedom, but rather, would look to paternal government for their rations of bread, clothing and housing."

Wasn’t this attitude the first step that brought down the Roman Empire? Bread and Circuses?

It’s a nightmare. I’m starting a pray for the five (4 + 1) conservative members of the Supreme Court, and for the lifetime conservatives sitting in the Federal Courts. We will need them all. God save America!

Rush played FDR talking about this very thing in 1944. It is frightening to think an Obama/Pelosi/Reid term could accomplish in 2 years.

I believe a number of European constitutions have a lengthy description of all the things that you have a “right” to be guaranteed by the government (housing, jobs, etc.). At best, it’s a recipe for stagnation and, increasingly, bankruptcy of the nation in question. At worst, with enforcement clauses and Barry’s national police force, it’s a recipe for Marxist dictatorship.

I think in the case of the US, it might be difficult to give something like this constitutional rank, simply because it could essentially conflict with our basic set of liberties. Not that legality or constitutionality has ever mattered to the left.

I just watched a program about the rise of the Nazi party. One of their favorite tactics was not to face or debate those that criticized them or their ideas. The Nazi's would ridicule their critics.

This is the same tactic that Obama has used. A good example is his recent response to being labeled a Socialist. He response was to joke about sharing his toys and peanut butter and jelly sandwich making him a communist.

I hope the McCain campaign keeps pounding on Obama's desire to redistribute the wealth. Many people know this is a fact. The question is, can they shake off the mind f*ck the messiah has given them.

Only the 2ND amendment may save America.

“Why does Obama’s statement, that he wants a “National
Civilian Security Force” as strong and as well-funded
as our military matter to me?”

If Barrack Hussein 0Bama is POTUS, we will have the
CCCP ( Communist Conformation Compelling Police )
based on ACORN, the Weathermen and other thugs.

Will they go to war to keep the productive from fleeing? Finally close the border, to keep the productive in?

Call it the Bill of Entitlements, insulting ones intelligence will never get 2/3 of any body of government to pass this crap.

Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word, equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude.

A guy like this Cass Sunstein must be proud of this day and age, in a place where folks look beyond a persons past, look beyond a persons race, and are deciding the fate of the greatest nation that ever is/was. I only have time to adress one problem with this Socialistic Libtard nutbag, and it’s this:

I’d like to ask any Libtard one question. Where does wealth come from? Hard work? “Pennies from Heaven” don’t count, that was a movie.

Is it not a fact that if you penalize wealth makers you end up (if your lucky) with 2nd world stagnation?

After that, Who you gonna rob?

Hey Hussein.....ya see selfishness?? It is how you live in luxury but you HAVE NOT bothered to help your brother living in a hut in Kenya and your aunt living in a slum in Boston. An you want to lecture us??????????????

Does America Need a New Bill of Rights?

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,445386,00.html

Last week in Ohio, the Obama for President Campaign suggested that Americans need a “second Bill of Rights.” The idea –- not a new one for liberals –- came this time from Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Ohio, as she introduced Senator Obama at a rally in Toledo. Congressman Kaptur enthusiastically endorsed the initiative –- first proffered by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on January 11, 1944. Senator Obama said nothing to disabuse his enthusiastic followers of the notion. It was a bad idea when FDR advocated it -– and it is now.

President Roosevelt made the proposal in his State of the Union address –- delivered over the radio from the White House -– instead of in person before Congress. He claimed that he had “the flu” and that his doctors would not permit him “to go up to the Capitol.” The nation was then –- as we are today -– at war. And FDR –- the “indispensable leader” –- was already preparing for his 4th presidential campaign.

In promoting his new “Bill of Rights,” Mr. Roosevelt observed that we already enjoyed “certain inalienable political rights –- among them the right of free speech, free press, free worship, trial by jury, freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures.” He then said, “They were our rights to life and liberty.” Notably, FDR used the past tense and omitted the Second Amendment in its entirety -– no small lapse when nearly 16 million Americans were under arms.

Unfortunately, the idea that our original Bill of Rights is inadequate –- or even archaic –- has achieved new currency with liberals. In enumerating his abbreviated version of the first 10 Amendments to our Constitution, FDR described our rights as “political” and insufficient. The framers saw them as God-given and a sacred trust to deliver unabridged to future generations.

Therein is the challenge in next week’s elections. The mainstream media and the polls predict a rout to the left. Does that mean Congress would have free reign to resurrect FDR’s “second Bill of Rights”? And, if so, what then happens to the real Bill of Rights -– first handed into our care on December 15, 1791?

America is not great because of the landmass it sits upon, its bloodlines, its language, nor anything similar. America is great because of the opportunities it presents - the liberty to excel or fail, to rise and fall on individual merit and hard work, free of the old European ways of aristocracy and caste. That is what so many have spilled their blood to defend - not stock dividends, guaranteed government pensions, free prescription drugs, or sitting presidents. That is why immigrants flock to America above every other nation, that is why people sell everything they own, and sometimes risk their lives, to come here. And that - the sum of all those things so presciently codified in the early Constitution - is why patriots are proud to see the American flag fly.

If that fundamental character is destroyed, and we are unable to revive it using the Constitutional reset button provided in the 2nd Amendment, those who love liberty will find a new home. And the socialist's tax base will evaporate, with America (deservedly) being destroyed from within. If the Marxists and similar compulsory collectivists want to subvert our negative rights in return for positive entitlements, they will lose all vestiges of both, and the world will lose its brightest beacon of freedom (if you are not free both succeed and fail, you are a slave).

Us evil free-marketeers hold the bulk of the US economy under our arms. It is largely portable, you sons of bitches. The country and flag won't mean squat if they are emblems of a socialist dictatorship. Our allegiance is to the flag only because of what it now represents. My idea of patriotism is NOT paying higher taxes!

LET ME SEE IF I HAVE THIS STRAIGHT:

HIS FATHER WAS A KENYAN, MOSLEM, BLACK. WE HAVE SEEN PICTURES OF HIS AFRICAN “FAMILY.

HIS MOTHER IS A KANSAN, ATHEIST, WHITE.

HIS FATHER DESERTED HIS MOTHER AND HIM WHEN HE WAS VERY YOUNG AND WENT BACK TO HIS FAMILY IN KENYA.

HIS MOTHER MARRIED AN INDONESIAN MUSLIM AND TOOK HIM TO JAKARTA WHERE HE WAS SCHOOLED IN A MUSLIM SCHOOL.

HIS MOTHER RETURNED TO HAWAII AND HE WAS RAISED BY HIS WHITE KANSAN GRANDPARENTS.

HE LATER WENT TO THE BEST AND COSTLIEST SCHOOLS, HOW?

HE LIVES IN A $1.4 MILLION DOLLAR HOUSE THAT HE ACQUIRED THROUGH A DEAL WITH A WEALTHY FUND RAISER. HOW?

HE “WORKED” AS A CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST IN CHICAGO- THE PRESIDENCY IS NOT A CIVIL RIGHTS POST NOR IS IT SUBJECT TO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION SET ASIDES.

HE ENTERED POLITICS AT THE STATE LEVEL AND THEN THE NATIONAL LEVEL WHERE HE HAS MINIMAL EXPERIENCE.

HE IS PROUD OF HIS “AFRICAN HERITAGE” BUT IT SEEMS THAT HIS ONLY AFRICAN CONNECTION WAS THAT HIS AFRICAN FATHER GOT A WHITE GIRL PREGNANT AND DESERTED HER. I DIDN’T KNOW THAT SPERM CARRIED A “CULTURAL” GENE. WHERE IS THE PRIDE IN HIS WHITE CULTURE?

FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS HE REGULARLY ATTENDED AN “AFROCENTRIC” CHURCH THAT HATES WHITES, HATES JEWS, AND BLAMES AMERICA FOR ALL THE WORLD’S PERCEIVED FAULTS AND THEN REPEATEDLY COVERS UP FOR THE PASTOR AND THE CHURCH

HE CLAIMS THAT HE COULD NOT CONFRONT HIS PASTOR BUT HE WANTS US TO BELIEVE THAT HE CAN CONFRONT NORTH KOREA AND IRAN.

YES, I THINK I SEE HOW HE COULD BE A UNITER AND BRING US TOGETHER.

I THINK THE HOPE IS THAT HE HOPES NO ONE WILL ASSEMBLE THE PIECES.

“Why does Obama’s statement that he wants a “National Civilian Security Force” as strong and as well-funded as our military matter to me?”

Well, partly because Hussein wants to arm a militia of his own choosing to do his bidding and then gradually take away YOUR constitutional right to bear arms under that guise. (the guise of THAT organization allegedly “fulfilling” the constitutional requirements as THEY interpret it.)

WAKE UP PEOPLE!

The media, if you’ll notice, is already well-conditioned and supplied with communist/Marxist talking points which they parrot every time they report a story about some gun crime or the other. . and it is at a crescendo now.

Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and leftist Supreme Court are in the process of revoking the Constitution piece by piece as we speak. - I guess we all need to read 1984 again, as well as some of the other socialist/communist refuting literature. (Atlas Shrugged, Animal Farm, The Little Red Hen, others?)
