THE SPIN: "Here's what I'll do. Cut taxes for every working family making less than $200,000 a year. I thought it was $250K. Biden said $150K a couple of days ago. Can't they keep it straight on whose money their going to redistribute?

Here's a simple analysis that I wish McCain would use:

You make $100,000 from a business or job. Tax rate is 38%.

Under Obama, you send the IRS $38,000 and he spends it on programs and mails some of it to poor people.

Under McCain, he gives you a $5000 tax credit for health care. You send the IRS $33,000 and use the $5,000 you saved in taxes to buy health insurance. McCain & CO. still spend the $33,000 on the usual cr*p.

Get it? You keep $5,000 OF YOUR OWN MONEY to spend on health insurance. It is NOT the government's money. Its your money and you either send it to the IRS or spend it on health insurance.

The media is now trying to reclaim its credibility by telling the truth for a change 6 days before the election.

His vow to save money by "eliminating programs that don't work" masks his failure throughout the campaign to specify what those programs are - beyond the withdrawal of troops from Iraq.

And he claims he'd send those troops to Afghanistan, so there'd be zero savings if we take him at his word (which would be a silly thing to do anyway).

Generally one can only stomach so much of this guys ego - even the undecideds (whom ever they are) will have to turn this coronation crap off.

They’re just campaign promises to get elected. Everybody does it. It isn’t like he should be expected to keep them. /sarc

Obama hopes that by spending $50 billion over five years on electronic medical records and by improving access to proven disease management programs, among other steps, consumers will end up saving money.

1. Obama is elected.

2. Medical Records System is put out to bid.

3. Contract awarded

4. Development begins

5. Three years pass and development has stalled.

6. Another year passes and the project is declared a failure.

7. $50 Billion is written off.

8. Medical Records System is put out to bid.

I read the AP story last night on the web. It was not on the front page of my newspaper this morning.

I just love how people think that pulling the troops out of Iraq is going to save so much money. You are still going to have to supply and house and feed those troops where ever they are, and you are still going to have to pay them. He's planning on moving troops to Afganistan, what will that cost?

The AP's trying to get a little truth out so they don't look like total suck-ups to the DNC. It's like a coach putting in the second team when he knows he's got a win.

Sorry AP, it's too little too late.

You have to live in wonderland if you think anyone is going to get a tax cut in the next 5 years. The Fed has spent you and your grandchildren into outer space, someone will have to pay.

They are counting on you!
