Newcomers need to be reminded of what FreeRepublic stands for. They come here, and never think to research our principles. Instead, they assume FreeRepublic is their own soapbox, pushing their own platform/agenda.
I think it’s pretty clear that the Palin pick has alienated Jewish voters. Maybe it’s because of the fundamentalism, and maybe it is just because she appears unqualified. Okay, I've officially had enough. After yesterday's personal attacks on me, I debated taking a posting sabbatical. This one is the last straw. I think the Holy Spirit uses bad situations to bring out a greater good, so I'll take this latest insult as a final validation of this decision that my time and energies can be put to better use elsewhere.

That is not, in my opinion, a “religious right” view. It is a “human rights” view.

First, let me say, anyone who has paid attention would know Canticle_of_Deborah has always been 100% pro-life, 100% anti-euthanasia, 100% against the homosexual agenda, and generally so conservative that it would she'd be vilified by the press.
I personally didn't support Mitt Romney in the primaries, but that doesn't mean I don't think any conservatives did. Should we all consider anyone supported a candidate we didn't like (and I thought they were all poor), to be, "unclean?" That is ridiculous and will render the conservative movement useless.
Besides all that, is this the time to be fighting about this and treating people the way we despise being treated by the left?
Am I mistaken, or is there an election in 5 days that might mean the most left wing government in U.S. history?

Stupid me, I thought conservatives were too smart for that. I was wrong. I am dismayed to see Freepers being jerked like puppets on strings pulled by the MSM.
Am I in the middle of a terrible nightmare. Instead of shooting each other, why don't you all go out and do field work for the Obama campaign? It will be almost as effective.
My suggestion is everyone should brace themselves, take some time, come back, and apoligize to our neighbors, and do something productive.
