And what do we call these tapes that we want released? Just: “the tapes”?

I’ve already been told to “piss off” 4 times by them...

I haven’t heard anyone suggest this, so here I go.

Consider the timing of the original article. April. What was going on in March and April? Hillary Clinton’s campaign was tanking big time.

Gee. I wonder who would really be embarrassed if the Times released the tape?

I’m just sayin’.

If you subscribe, call and cancel then tell them why.

Hit them where it hurts.

I sent a rather terse email to Russ Stanton this afternoon. Obviously no reply, but I told him his newspaper is fading into obsolescence and if he cares at all about the future and integrity of his paper, he’ll do what’s right and release the video.

I told them that I personally think this is nothing more than a stunt and that the times has no tape to release and considering the stock performance of the paper and the Tribune companies in general, this is just an act to provoke some interest in a failing paper.

I am watching the Hannity & Colmes discussion with Bernie Goldberg. Both they, and the Professor of Journalism, are missing one important point.

The L.A. Times wrote and published an article about the CONTENTS of this meeting, as revealed on the tape. Let's assume. even if it is a lie, that the L.A. Times received the tape under a promise of "confidentiality." It is self-evident that the Times did not promise to hide the CONTENTS of the tape.

In a trial, there is a concept called "opening the door." When an opposing counsel goes into an area that is otherwise privileged, then you can go after the same thing. Anyone has a right to demand of the Times that they produce a transcript of the whole tape. That much is outside of "confidentiality" because the Times itself has "opened the door."

Given the recent history of the Times, there will still be a question of whether the transcript is honest and complete. Recall the 17 minutes missing (plus a whole lot of profanity and obscenity deleted) from the Nixon Watergate tapes. But the wrinkle I have just stated has, so far, been missed by all other commentators.

Even if you don’t subscribe, tell them to cancel your subscription and hang up.

Maybe we should tell them we’ll subscribe to their rag if they release the tape. Something tells me a flood of potential subscriptions might be the way to go.

The terrorist wannabee hosted at the dinner on the tape - Obama's friend - went on to Columbia and was the person who invited the dear President of Iran to speak there. Ripples in the water...

Ayers' book "Prairie Fire" was dedicated to the assassin Sirhan Sirhan - killer of Robert Kennedy?

Here is my Comment to the LA Times:

Release the tape! If Obama did nothing wrong…and defended Israel as he should have if disparaging comments were made, then why are you hiding this material from the American people? Who are you hiding it for? Your candidate?

Actually, the controversy may be more damaging to Obama than the contents of the tape itself. Hopefully, McCain keeps the pressure on and vocally demands it.

This smells more like the LA SLimes are not releasing the tape because of the gross missmatch between the article last spring and the actual obscene nature of the video revelations. The Slimes are openly in the tank for Obama and the article was very colorless, wimpy even. The video may be very volatile and expose just how badly the Slimes are mischaracterizing the video with the bland article.

My comment:
The LA Times is in possession of a tape that could prove embarrassing to the Obama campaign. The Times refuses to release the tape.

I'm going to make a deal: you release the tape, and I won't begin a campaign aimed at every one of your advertisers with a goal of convincing them that they risk half of their customer base by being associated with you.

If you think I'm joking or blowing smoke with what I'm suggesting, ask yourself 'When is the last time I heard anything about the Dixie Chicks?'

They, too, learned the power of an informed populace.

We live in a 50/50 country.

Do you want to lose half of your business by covering this up?

From another thread:

Please call and demand the release of the tape:

You may be right. One thing is for sure, the LA Slimes has no insight about why they and other newspapers are failing as businesses: no one buys their fishwraps because no one believes a single thing they say.

Ironically, if a single paper would make the hard decision to take on Obama and his henchmen they would make a huge name for themselves and probably return to being a profitable business.
