Has anyone this year voted on a Smartmatic/Sequoia voting machine?

I finally found the article that I was looking for regarding a Venezuelan software firm with no experience in elections being involved in the last election fiasco in Venezuela. I suppose it was only a fiasco if you voted against Hugo Chavez. The point of this article was that two software engineers got a loan from the Venezuelan government and started a voting software company called Smartmatic. This company subsequently bought a US voting machine manufacturer called Sequoia. I don't know how to automatically link to the article above, (Tim Golden,NYT,29OCT06), but it goes into much more detail.

This election may turn out to be a seminal moment in our great countries' history. I think it already is. Do we want to take the left fork, that leads to European style socialism,(or worse), or the right fork, that leads to, (with McCain), more of the same, with Mac reaching compromises with the dark side that no one likes but most can agree with. The ultimate question here is... Do the voters decide? We have all seen the abuses by Acorn and Voter USA and all the other dim efforts to corrupt the system, but, what if that is not all? In that article that I referenced above, if you check the last couple of paragraghs you will see the mention of a problem with the use of these voting systems in, where else, Chicago. It is supposedly now fixed. The point of all of this is that if the actual voting mechanisms of this most important election are compromised, then the results, the real results, may never be known. The FEC and the DOJ cannot be trusted. Both are full of career bereaucrats who are more interested in their pensions than in fair elections. So, we get back to my original question, Has anyone seen or voted on a SmartMatic/Sequoia machine.

Don’t have a clue regarding SmartMatic. I only vote absentee. That way I know for sure my ballot is shredded before being counted.

We voted on a Sequoia last night here in Nashville. No problems that we could see. Straight Republican ticket.
