Instead of fretting over polls or giving Obama any credibility or ratings by watching his stupid infomercial, sign up at the McCain-Palin campaign web site to make some phone bank calls. It is easy, and my wife and I are going to be doing it until this election is decided.
We have kept it simply and basically say that we are so and so, a volunteer calling on behalf of the McCain-Palin campaign. We are wondering if John McCain and Sarah Palin can count on your vote next Tuesday on Election Day? The only follow up then that might be worth asking for the campaign is whether their choice is strong, as this likely tags those who may receive a separate follow up call. The script provided is a little much IMO, especially if you aren't super comfortable on the phone or don't want to annoy people too much.
Good luck.
Get creative and distract the undecideds that you know. Take them out to dinner, shopping, etc. Anything. Just get them away from the TV.
Calls can be made directly from the McCain/Palin website
Very simple and pain free. Great idea.
When does it come on back east??
There’s Bambi or baseball — what Red-Blooded American is going to watch Bambinfomercial? Damn, I’d take Billy Mays hawking a stain remover.
8:00 PM EST I believe.
You may have to hurry. They have a time period when you can calls. McCain/Palin are polite like that....
Made some calls last weekend. Will try to do more this coming weekend...
Per the web site: Please do not make any calls before 10AM Eastern Time or after 9 PM Eastern Time.
This is the script I have been using. My friends and I have made thousands of calls ( I have made hundreds)
Hi, I and I just wanted to mention that
Recently, a bill was introduced by Congressman George Miller, democrat of CA to eliminate the tax deduction of 401K contributions and force us all to pay increased taxes. The law would obviously increase downward pressure on the stock market, though forced 401k liquidations.
John McCain would veto this bill. Instead, he will get our economy back on track by allowing a 10% tax credit for R&D investments and accelerated equipment depreciation to create jobs, especially through small businesses.

As a McCain volunteer, I hope we can count on you support November the 4th.
He will reform Washington by going after Freddie, Fannie Mae and Acorn.
He will break our dependence on foreign oil, which will cut prices at the pump. McCain will employ an all of the above strategy to diversify our sources of energy.
On defense, he will not be tested as an inexperienced president as Biden has pointed out Obama would be.
